Welcome to the California Science and Engineering Fair
The CSEF Foundation is pleased to announce that the 75th Annual California Science and Engineering Fair. will be held on the weekend of April 11th and April 12th. CSEF 2026 will be hosted once again on the beautiful campus of California Lutheran University (CLU) in Thousand Oaks, California
Registration, project setup, inspection and approval will occur on Saturday April 11th and judging will occur throughout the day on April 12th. Additional details and schedules for CSEF 2026 will be announced here as soon as they become available.
The CSEF Foundation is actively seeking judges, sponsors, supporters and volunteers. If you or your organization is interested in offering a special award, judging, supporting or assisting with the fair, please click the appropriate links at the top of this page.
Student participants in the fair, must qualify by entering and recieving nomination from a participating affiliate fair. For information on affiliated local, county and regional fairs, please contact your school, local school district or county Office of Education. Eligible contestants will receive an email invitation from CSEF with registration codes, links and instructions.
Thousand Oaks, is home to biotech, pharmaceutical, medical, electronics, engineering, technology, software, automotive, finance, media, aerospace, energy, design and publishing companies. Nearby attractions include the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza and The Gardens of the World. Thousand Oaks is located at the border between Ventura and Los Angeles Counties, northwest of Los Angeles, at the intersection of the 101 and 23 Freeways.
The closest commercial airport is the Hollywood Burbank Airport, BUR. Los Angeles International Airport, LAX, is further away, but offers a much larger selection of flights. There are a wide variety of hotels and motels within a few miles of the CLU campus.
Registration, document submission and project review status links will be available on this page, once the registration, submission and review process begins. We expect the registration portal to open to students by the first week of March.
All applicants are required to submit a 13 page PDF document which must be approved in advance of the fair. This PDF presentaion is separate and apart from the printed Project Display Board which will be exhibited at the in-person fair itself. Both are required elements of a CSEF project.
