Vacation is over...
We arrived home Monday afternoon and were so excited to see all the kids. Tuesday it began to snow and for 48 straight hours it snowed. We received over 2.5 feet of snow. This was a big change from 90 degree weather in Maui. I 'm not sure if i've mentioned it or not but I WANT TO GO BACK TO MAUI!!! I will put pictures up soon. We really had a great time and needed to come home when we did so we could rest.

God's Cake
This is about the best thing I've ever read as an explanation.
We all wonder many many many times over WHY?
Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation! A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away. Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake." "Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter."How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!""Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!" To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! " God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful! God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

We are home from the hospital!
Richard was able to come home from the hospital tonight. He is able to breathe much better and his stats were up. We will have to watch him closely due to his asthma and the extra strain that puts on his little lungs. He was a BRAVE little guy. I know I was pretty nervous when he came to Scott and I and told us he couldn't breathe. I think that was my longest trip to town yet. I hope and pray you do not have to deal with this in your families. Remember to wash your hands frequently and cough in your elbow.

It is official...
we have...N1H1 at our house!
Today we have been officially diagnosed with the N1H1 flu. I have 5 sick kiddos at home and 4 with fevers over 103. We have been told to stay away from everyone and to drink lots of fluids. Guess its a good thing we live in the mountains. Hope you have a good evening and don't let the SWINE bugs bite. :)

***Chickens***
I decided I wanted chickens about 2 years ago. Well, it just never happened until one day I found the "perfect" setup on craigslist. Lets backup just a bit so I can give you some background. Our oldest son and his wife were moving and we were headed to Colorado Springs to help them at 3pm. At about 2:40pm I found this listing on craigslist and sent an e-mail telling her I was interested in her chickens. She e-mailed me back in about 5min, which usually doesn't happen on craigslist. I saw this as a "sign" I was suppose to have these chickens. On our way to Colorado Springs with 7 kids we went by to check out the chickens and bought them. I was not set up to bring chickens home yet so I was in panic mode. All weekend I planned on how I was going to build a run for them. We returned home and early Monday morning I went to Home Depot and bought lumber and chicken wire. As you will see in the pictures I DID IT! We now have CHICKENS!

Which came first the Chicken or the egg?

The egg on the left is from my chicken. The egg on the right is from Walmart. Which egg would you like to be eating?

Family Home Evening

We decided to go to the church farm and pick corn for FHE. We have never done this before and we all had a great time. We also have corn coming out of OUR ears.

Image
We just arrived at the corn fields and Mom is giving everyone instructions. Notice nobody is looking my way.

Image Kelsie trying to get back to the car without getting cut by the corn stalks. They are VERY sharp.

Image Kelsie is back with her first load of corn to go in the truck. She was working very hard.

Image Ashley showing us how much fun she is having. Isn't she BEAUTIFUL? Even in a corn field.

Image Look at that ear of corn boys. Way to go. I sure am glad you came to help us.

ImageKimberly had such a great time just smiling and meeting new friends.
ImageBryce is so proud of his ear of corn.
