Trade Sign
John recently found the antique (circa 1900s) ‘Artists’ Materials’ trade sign at an estate sale. It was in the attic of a large home and very dirty and dusty. He gently cleaned and waxed it back to life. The letters are beautiful gilt gold. It now hangs in our entryway.

All Night Media
I have a decent collection of vintage All Night Media rubber stamps and catalogs. I especially like the early ones marked by the creator, Robert G. Bloomberg.

Yellow Mailbox
John bought me a real mailbox (so heavy we had to hire someone to move it!) that was painted yellow at an estate sale a few months ago. Squeezed into my current studio (an extra bedroom in the house) which will be just for mail art and rubber stamps once I move my collage materials to the new studio in the backyard. I still need to add the plate which is metal and glass. It now stores my mail art archive.

Fat Cats
I recycled the Tyvek from the studio construction and made stencils with them. These are mono prints with mixed media.

Time
Working on an illustration job for the Economist. These are the leftovers. With Covid and this assignment, I am behind on mail art. Please be patient with me. Hopefully I’ll get going again in the new year.

Lucy Sante
Lucy is one of my favorite writers and I am thrilled to have received one of her collages. The post had almost destroyed the dog but I managed to glue it back down. Unfortunately it lost a leg in transit.

Otto Sherman
I miss getting mail from artist Otto Sherman who was from New York. Every week he’d send me one or more envelopes covered with his unique artistamps and filled with his work. He loved rubber stamps and poked fun at all politicians equally. We spoke on the phone a few times. This piece is from 2016 and has a stack of his work. These are a few examples:

Bad Bunny
I’ve been sick with Covid and finally had the energy to make a few stencil postcards. I’ll never miss another vaccine appointment! Have never had Covid and don’t want it again.

This one was torn in transit. I hate when the machines shred postcards. Half the address was gone but still managed to reach me.

Acid Test
In the spirit of my test/error cards, I attempted something similar yesterday morning on a blank 9x12 piece of paper.
