After years of working hard at the goal of finishing my first feature film…. I just got one step closer. My film BETTY I AM was accepted to the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival. It will shown on December 10 which falls at 7:30pm at the Bellvarado studios at echo park.. On top are the postcards that I left at several places in Los Angeles to hopefully get some people to come out..:
I couldn’t find a picture of myself writing, so going through some picture sets I found this. It’s me writing some camera report, but the idea is me writing. That’s what I’m doing right now, I took a break from writing my current script to write this post. 2011 is here, and so far there’s been a lot of up’s and downs. The ups of course is my Invested.In for project for my feature film Betty I am! The current count is $1,871 and $2,200 is needed with 12 days to go.. I’ll make it, there’s no doubt in my mind!
That was one good piece of cake!! First to my writing!! After some tough editing and decision-making, my new feature script is 20 pages in! Not done, I repeat! Not done!! From 30 to 20 pages.. and that’s getting things done.. Basically the script is along theme of the film TOKYO… The story all takes place in parts of Los Angeles; where a certain trend dominates the scene. The sketch below is from a good friend Yasmin Khudari.. And hopefully by the end of the year we’ll be working on something I been working on since the age of 17!! Cant’ say enough about this sketch!! But, the females in the film will most likely follow in this fashion.. some kind of preview of a work in progress. .
As the clock turns 12:09am and Thursday enters the fold… here I stare at my closet waiting for something or someone to come out and greet me… no really.. Anyway, writing the first of many stories of my latest feature script that consist tales of hipsters, accidents and love. There’s more… but need to finish by this week. I want to apply for a program to write television screenplays. . as page 20 nears, I feel I’m almost done.. Waiting for the clean up phase and if it makes any sense to myself or a few readers that I will end up asking. ..
The one thing that came to mind this weekend was this is going to be another weekend of doing nothing. But, with a phone call from a good friend and a birthday party to attend. Things started to look up.. I got invited to a concert, where the music group Empire of the Sun performed.

Last Thursday, I went to the New Beverly Cinema to watch a new film by Jim Jarmusch; The Limits of Control. The pace and style of the film were right up my alley, which is slow. The pace was so slow to the point where the viewer could actually feel what the main character was going through. I’m in no way going to break this film down by points. But, i will say that I could understand why this film did not have a wide release. The truth, I don’t really recall this film ever opening in Los Angeles. Because of the pace and style of the film, regular film audience would not have the patience and open minded enough to give this film a chance.. This leads to my film, Betty I am. During the film, I starting thinking about pace or tempo.. I figured out some edits that would make my film a little more pace friendly to the audience. Plus, the story of my film will be much more refine. And, hopefully by the end of the year my film will be presented somewhere.. Still working on that, every single day.

Lately, I been taking a B & W Photography Class and I love it! So, I’m always looking for opportunities to take pictures of the happenings of Los Angeles. Tuesday, I was a victim of the Nike-Lebron-James picture taking P.R. move. There was this small mini concert in culver city where a J-pop star (Kanon Wakeshima) was going to make an appearance for an album release party type of fiasco. Believing this was an awesome opportunity to take some photos and practice the art of photography. . After only taking one picture which you see below… A hand grabs the front of my camera, a female sony worker (yes, a sony product) tells me with authority that I was not allowed to take photos of Kanon. To make things short, after three songs ..the concert was over.. . The performance was very entertaining.. Another reason that I wanted to attend, its not very often you see someone using a cello instrument in a rock/pop type of act… And, just one more reason to throw out there.. I have a script in the works where it involves a female singer.. And, just seeing how things are after the show. It gave me a great perspective of the aftermath, clean up, crew working to strike down. How Kanon Wakeshima exits the building with her handlers.. It was quite helpful. 
The picture was taken from a website that offer images of inspiration….It just gives me mix emotions…So, I haven’t been doing this for a while, and I haven’t been writing the amount that I would like to. Hopefully, with this, it would kinda push me and get some things done…
