Carter and the Walker

Carters friend Michael comes over to play quite a bit. We have two walkers at our house right now so we let them race. I didn't know Carter could use the walker yet. Every time I have tried all he wants are the toys. He did really well. Still kind of wobbly but he could get it going for a few steps

Bad Hair Day

Corbin 's hair has been getting so long I've been trying to cut it for weeks but he has become terrified of hair clippers. I told him one day that I would have to put it in a pony tail to keep it out of his eyes. He thought that was a GREAT idea. PURTY AIN'T HEImageThis was Easter day after nap. He had quite the fro going for him.

I finally succeeded in cutting his hair while he watch Madagascar with the whole cast in tow. It is shorter than I wanted but I am not very good at long hairstyles as anyone who has seen Andrew will know. At least this puts more time between the next haircut.ImageBest Friends: Corbin and Gloria
ImageI stepped out of the kitchen for a brief moment (always a risky move) This is the scene that greeted my eyes. Corbin wanted to help feed Carter but he had more fun pretending to be his new fashion consultant. I accidentally deleted several pictures off my card before I realized they were not saved on the computer yet. This was the only picture that survived but you can get the idea. I guess I can say that Carter has been in his first food fight but that would not be altogether true. He throws food everywhere on a daily basis. He loves to grab handfuls of cheerios and toss them over his shoulder or he bangs on his tray to watch the food go flying Image

Easter

Happy Easter!
ImageWard Easter Egg Hunt.
ImageDouble TroubleImageWard Carnival
The Activities Committee went all out this year and put on a wonderful Easter Carnival with a Bouncing Castle, Petting Zoo, Clowns, Popcorn, Nacos, Ice Cones, Cake Walk, and all kinds of little side games. The kids were going to love it!!! Wrong again. Corbin was terrified...of everything from the fishing pond to the ponies, the clowns, you name it. We finally got him to bounce in the castle after mommy went in with him. Andrew had to carry him up the giant slide. He wouldn't have anything to do with the little games, like the bean bag toss and fishing game. I think too much excitement just gets to him.

After the carnival on Saturday I did a Treasure Hunt for Corbin. He had to figure out all the clues and find the next egg all by himself until he found the treasure at the end. He loved trying searching for the next clue. We did a little Easter Egg Hunt Sunday morning. Carter was really funny. He was so excited about everything. ImageImageImage

Image???NAPTIME??? Not if Corbin has anything to say about it. He loves playing with Carter in the crib. I like to put both boys down awake. This is just an open invitation to climb in the crib with out Mommy there to monitor what is going on. Carter loves it as much as Corbin. Other than the couple of times Corbin has climbed in after he was already asleep and not so willing to 'Play Games' I really don't know what I am going to do with these boys

Going to the Zoo

Last week was Texas A&M's Spring Break. We went to the Zoo in Waco Cameron Park Zoo. We met up with Glen and Claudia Walker who live in Temple. Jay Hobbs also came with them. The kids had so much fun. Corbin was more excited than I have seen him in a long time. He goes through spells of obsession with one specific toy or idea, Farm animals, Dinosaurs, Trains, etc. His most current obsession is Gloria the Hippo from the movie Madegascar (which he calls Mad Dan a gas car) Gloria comes everywhere with us. He also has a lion and giraffe which he loves, but not in comparison to Gloria. Anyway, the Waco Zoo did not have a Hippo but they did have a Lion and giraffe. He took out his toy giraffe and held him up and shouted "There you are Melman!" He was just tickled to death.

It was clear and you could see the otters swimming around you. All the kids loved it!

Make New Friends but Keep the Old

I was so excited to have two old friends from the ward stop by for a visit. Claudia and Lindsay both have husbands in Medical School and now live in Temple, TX while their husbands work at the hospital there. It was so good to see them and their adorable kids. All the kids had so much fun. I hope we will be able to get together again soon. Thanks for the fun visit guys!

Paper Towell Anyone???

Andrew and I planted our Garden this weekend. I should say it was really all Andrew. I really had no intention of doing another Container Garden since we did not have much Success with it last year. However, he really wanted to do it, so that is fine. Corbin loved helping. (Sorry, I didn't get any pictures) I went outside to clean up the new toys I got from the latest yard sale, a cute Teeter Toter that both boys love. Carter sat on one end and Corbin was on the other end. Carter was loving it. He really thinks he has the coolest Big Brother ever.

I brought the boys back inside. I had to look something on the computer. I turned around and this sight met my eyes. They had found my new roll of paper towels and unraveled more than half of it. They were both having a grand ol' time in the spiderweb of towels. This time I did remember to grab my camera to get a quick picture.

Our Morning Surprise

We woke up this morning to a surprise. We thought that we had left all this stuff behind in Utah, but some decided to come and follow us here. It was a little weird. Today being the beginning of spring break and all. Here is a little video fur Y'all.

In perspective though I would rather the snow than usual ice storm.

No More Diapers!

Hurray! The last two weeks have been diaper free, With the exception of Night Time. I don't want to get to excited in case we have a relapse. It has just been too good to last. We decided to bite the bullet and put Corbin in big boy pants even though he refused to sit on the potty. At first I pestered him every 15 minutes to sit on the potty. He got really upset and refused to even "Sit and 'Try" as we moms like to say. After an hour or so he ran up and said "Mommy, some tinkles want to come out!" (That is our word for Pee) I sat him on the potty and he went, and has been going since. He even has been waking up in the night to go and having dry diapers in the morning. It is just great! I guess he was ready. I took him to Kohls and helped him buy some Big Boy Pants. He choose Bob the Builder and Lightning McQueen. I figure if he loses motivation I will start using rewards or a potty chart but for now we are going Great. Once again Hurray!

So that is the update of our life, nothing too exciting to read about. I finally got around to editing a few movies of the boys. I hope you will be able to view them. I went to a yard sale a couple weeks ago and got the Ball Popper toy for a quarter. Great buy and the boys love it. We almost bought the exact toy for Christmas and would have paid over $30. I love yard sales!

We also found a boys bike and lots of other great deals, one of these being a Wiggles movie and their music CD. Corbin wanted to listen to the Cd a million times and loved dancing. Carter thought it was pretty fun too. Here is a movie of them dancin' with "The WIGGLES!!!"

Carter is the type of baby who wants to eat EVERYTHING! Especially if it comes from moms plate. He stuffs it all in his mouth and can barely chew. I have to be really careful to only give him a few pieces of food at a time so he doesn't end up choking. These pictures and video are from our Sunday lunch. Carter's always gets messy when he is eating. Corbin laughs at him and says " Carter is a Daddy, He has whiskers like Daddy!" It was so cute. They make me laugh.

Our friend Micheal came over to play in the sand box with our boys. The babies just Love running the sand through their fingers and toes. They have not even tried to eat it...yet.

We were in a hurry one night and so didn't have time to fill up the tub. Carter got a spit bath in the sink and loved it so much we just had to pause and get a few cute pictures.Image
