Lake Summerville

Our home teacher invited us to go camping with him and his wife.

It was so much fun. The weather was perfect, the kids did wonderfully and we all had a great time. The boys were very involved in helping set up camp.
Image
They made several trips with us to help unload the car, which we had to park quite far away from our campsite.

Carter thought it was his personal responsibly to look after Kaydee. He loved having her on a chain, she can't get away so easily.
Image
The highlight of our little camping trip was that Corbin found his long lost friend Gloria the Hippo. We lost her last year we went camping and never thought we would see her again. When we opened up the tent, there she was. He used to take that toy Everywhere! He was so excited to have her back again.

We flew kites, took some nice nature walks

and family bike rides. The boys got to pet several of the horses that were camping nearby. Carter is especially fascinated with horses. He did not show any signs of fear around them. I wish I had gotten some pictures. He was so cute with them

Carter got a bit impatient while we were cleaning up. He had had a busy day and he was tired. If you know Carter at all you will know he LOVES nap time. After trying out several spots he finally found a nice place under the picnic table to catch a few Zzzzzs before while he was waiting for us slowpokes to get ready to go. I guess Kaydee decided to join him.

I think we were all feeling like this on the way home.

Circus, Circus

The library was giving out free kid's tickets to the Circus if they read five books. We decided to go. We left Carter with a friend because we thought it would go late. I think he would have been fine, but maybe not so entertained. I have only been to a Circus once in my life and I don't remember it to well. It was not a large Circus, but they did a good job and we were all really entertained for two hours. Andrew claims it was the funnest thing we have ever done as a family. I guess we will have to make a tradition and do it again sometime.

There were tons of acrobats, tumbler, a clown and several other acts. We took so many pictures, but you can't really see much of what is going on. The elephants were cool. They looked really strange sitting down, especially on another elephant

The six white Bengal Tigers were impressive and very large.

Lazy Sunday Afternoons

In the Spring the Blue Bonnets are just beautiful, they line the roads and fill the meadows. It is a tradition to go every year and get your families pictures taken in them. Our kids were not cooperating too well, but I think we am lucky we got at least a few pictures.

Early Easter Celebrations

Image
Every year the George Bush Library has a Big Easter Egg Hunt. We have missed it the last few years, but I made sure to go this year. They do such a good job. There are tons of fun games and activities for kids of all ages. The Fire Department comes and lets the kids climb all over the fire trucks. There is free food, drinks, goody bags. Of course there is the Easter Bunny who rides in on the Fire Truck. We did not even attempt to visit him this year. Corbin still remembers him from when he was Carters age. If I even mention him he will start crying and say "He is not a Nice BUNNY!!!" Dunno, maybe he pinched him or something while he was sitting on his lap. Anyway, enjoy the pictures

GAMES
Corbin really sent that egg flying in the Easter Egg Roll. There was not much left of the egg.
Image
He did pretty good at the Bunny Hop too
Image
Carter loved fishing for Duckies
Image
They came home with so many prizes, and candy I don't know what we are going to do with it all.

FIRETRUCKS

On Duty

Carter was so excited to drive the Firetruck he refused to look at the camera. I think he will be a truck driver when he grows up. He just loves to be behind those big wheels
Image
They had this cute remote controlled Firetruck that would move around and talk to the kids.

Corbin chowed down on the free cotton candy

These were the shots I captured of Carter tasting the cotton candy

What is this stuff?

Carter was falling asleep before we left. He was exhausted.

Happy Birthday Andrew!

I am so behind on Blogging, but I wanted to put up a post for Andrew's Birthday. We decided to have friends over for dinner. We provided the Main Course and everyone brought delicious sides. The food was great and I think we all had a good time visiting and letting the kids play.

Cheese Cake and cream puffs made a delicious Birthday cake

Thanks Everyone for celebrating with us!

Andrew has really worked hard the past four years. It is not easy to balance Grad School and Family but he has really tried to hard to spend time with us in the evening before kids go to bed and he has to go back to work. I just want to say We Love You and Thank You to him for being a Great Husband and Father. Happy Birthday Andrew!
