seerchlight: (wait around and i'll smile again)
Oh yeah, this thing. YOU KNOW WHAT HMDS ARE FOR RIGHT?

This is where you let me know if you think my Sollux Captor is balls, ideally with an idea of how to improve. Or I guess you can also use this to tell me how awesome I am. Either is cool, really.

Anon should be on. If it isn't, it's because I fucked up.

INTO THE HEDGE
Seeming: Servant
Role: Fairest Searchlight
Abilities: Sollux's two major abilities come in the form of supernaturally enhanced sight as well as the manipulation of light, especially the lumination that comes from his own body.

For his visual sight, he is capable of processing visual information in perfect clarity, from anywhere his light touches. That is to say he can see in all directions at once, at all times. The only part of his body that doesn't project this seeing light is, ironically, his eyes. This does mean that he can raise a hand to see his own face while also seeing the roof above his head and the floor beneath his feet. How his brain must process this gives me a headache just trying to think about it, but hey, it's magic. The second half of his sight based power is a limited sort of presentience - he has an instinctive sense of the immediate future, as well as the more distant future in terms of vague omens. His future sight is limited by whatever is appropriate in a storytelling sense.

His light manipulation is a lot simpler. He can project beams of light, as well as form shape out of it. Usually this just amount to him using his "spotlight" effect to point out escapees, or in just making his body brighter to sound the alarm. He is also capable of making his body hypnotically dazzling in a way that has a chance of putting onlookers into trances. This is the kind of thing that would probably require a will save if we were using dice, but in game terms its just a matter of what the players want out of situation.

He can fly at a leisurely, floating pace, which only ever gets as fast as a human can run. This mostly seems to be because his body is supernaturally, well...light. If one were to pick him up, it'd feel like they were lifting a creature of equivilent size made entirely out of downy feathers. This also means that he has very little physical force when it comes to combat, and is not very strong. He has no weight advantages what so ever and can be thrown around like a pillow.

Description: Sollux's changeling form is shaped very much like his normal troll form except that his entire body glows a radiant white - so radiant, in fact, that it can be hard to make out any physical features beyond that. His eyes are the only things that stick out, since they appear to be nothing but blackened voids. His claws are sharper and his horns are longer and wavier, often appearing to subtly shift in shape as he moves. As a fairest, he is also supernaturally beautiful, in the sense that his aura is a naturally attractive thing to look at.

His ankles still have ornate, black shackles on them with bits of chain hanging off when when he was chained up on the roof.

Reasoning: Sollux's role is all based around him being used to watch for future threats, and to stop them when they occur. This is something that is actually very closely tied to his character - through much of his life he was capable of foretelling the doom of others, and was constantly seeing the death of himself and his friends on the horizon even if no one else would believe him. Despite the fact that he more or less believed the future was set in stone, Sollux has also been the sort that solves people's problems, often without any expectation of approval or appreciation. He's the one that watches out for danger when no one else is paying attention, and he's the one that makes sure things work in the background while no one else will. Also, the fact that his role has him being used against his peers to capture escapees ties in with his history of being weaponized against his will.

Beyond that, his canon powers are really glowy telekinesis, and his name is literally the words "sun" and "light" crammed together.

MEMORIES
First Memory: Waking up dead after using his telekinesis to project a meteor through the outter ring. He doesn't really remember the meteor part, but he will remember being in a lot of pain, dying, and waking up in a dreambubble. And he'll remember being pretty damn alright with it all being over.

This woman is pretty much your best friend in this place so far. She's smart, pretty badass, and doesn't get offended when you say crude shit. Also she totally watched your back for you while you were learning how to sleep the first few times. She's basically your library roomate for the moment, and you consider her to be your number one ally in times of need.

Image Fish Girl
(aka Feferi Peixes)

A cute entertainer from the Keeper's party squad. Her singing voice is amazing, but she acts like she's ashamed of it for some reason. She's really chipper and friendly, but also sort of weird. You tried to help her escape the vines when your visions told you she was going to be trapped, but didn't manage to help at all, which you are still sort of beating yourself up about.

This chick is a total weirdo, but she's sort of cool, you guess. You met her in the library when she decided to help you find theoretical spiders for no particular reason. She's really into dead things, and takes pretty much everything you say in a stride. It's sort of refreshing, in its own way. She's a girl that enjoys poking at a dead body once in a while, and you can respect that.

(aka Robert and Rosalind Lutece)

Your experiences with these two have been kind of strange. They are scientists, you guess, and are pretty damn smart to boot. They are also very attractive - not that that is even unusual around this place. The point is, you find something about them weirdly hypnotic, like they are fascinating to you in a way you can't quite describe. They also sort of kidnapped you that one time but for some reason you're not inclined to hold it against them.

This dork is the gargoyle you used to guard the house with. Your work intersected a lot, but now that he's actually sentient and capable of speech, it's a lot weirder talking to him. He seems pretty messed up about not being on duty any more, which is pretty much the total opposite of your feelings on the matter.

One of the inner guard, you feel like the two of you have lot in common when it comes to your former duties. She sees the future the same way you can, and she also helped remove the chains from your shackles when you got stuck in a tree once. Later, she kissed you awake when you were cursed into a deep sleep. You're starting to wonder if this her saving you thing is becoming a trend.
