  • It is often noted that treatment-seeking rates among people with gambling problems are low. A better understanding of the recovery process can provide clues to structuring public health and treatment options to maximize their impact. We will review research that shows that most people with problems related to gambling make frequent attempts to cut back or stop, although they do this without accessing any support. We will review differences in people’s reasons for choosing different options between people who seek help from different sources, as well as what they find helpful. Our goal is to develop a nuanced understanding of the diverse paths people follow in seeking help for gambling-related issues.

    Speaker: Prof. David C. Hodgins

Two case studies will illustrate why Gen Z is the first generation demanding responsible experiences rather than just responsible gambling and how organizations can respond with frictionless, engaging support.
