I guess this is more of a hardware/bios problem. but you guys seem pretty smart. Downloaded fedora 4. checksums are good. burned isos as images. didnt boot. used the bootstraps provided on the cd and burned a new copy. no boot. odd. used the original burn on two other computers. booted just fine. checked boot order in bios everything seems fine. used old 7.2 cd to check if I was actually capable of booting of cd with the system at all. worked just dandy. ideas? EDIT: yesterday I had a mandriva iso that didnt want to boot, but i eventually got that to boot after i burned it as a bootable cd and used the boot image (using nero). which is what i meant by "used the bootstraps provided on the cd and burned a new copy. no boot." I also have a newish RAID controller, if that means anything

NOTE TO L.: just got your calls, been at work until just now. not returning your calls as its 4 in the morning and dont wanna wake you. weekends are bad for me. i'll probably be working tomorrow night as well, which means im gonna be sleeping for the majority of tomorrow. maybe sometime during the week will be better? drunk as hell, joe hat

Not much to say. But I finally I have a weekend night off, the first one in two months. I'm feeling quite good this past week. Here's why:

1. I'm currently watching Carnivale. Just started, dont give anything away.

2. I'm also drinking ludicrously priced wine out of it's appropriate glassware.

3. I'm now a major partner in a fairly successful furniture business.

4. My friends are awesome.

Today my best friend steve's baby was born. Rushing to the hospital in the iddle of the night and sitting in a waiting room for 8 hours and scary complications was all worth it. she's so beautiful. and im exhausted.
