About SIGDA

The ACM Special Interest Group on Design Automation (SIGDA) supports a global community working on the theory, practice, and impact of electronic design automation. SIGDA has a long tradition of fostering technical excellence and collaboration across the full design automation stack, from system-level design and verification to physical implementation and emerging EDA infrastructures.

SIGDA plays a central role in the community by sponsoring and supporting major conferences and workshops, maintaining archival EDA publications, and enabling the exchange of ideas through activities such as the University Research Demonstrations at DAC, the SIGDA Newsletter, and the SIGDA LIVE webinar series. These efforts provide venues for sharing research results, practical experience, and emerging directions in both academic and industrial settings.

A core objective of SIGDA is to broaden participation and strengthen engagement across regions, career stages, and technical backgrounds. By supporting students and early-career researchers, encouraging volunteer leadership, and fostering connections with industry and the open-source EDA ecosystem, SIGDA aims to reflect the evolving and increasingly global nature of the design automation field.

Members are encouraged to engage with SIGDA’s programs and contribute to its activities. SIGDA’s continued vitality depends on the active participation of its community and its shared commitment to advancing electronic design automation.
