1) OMG OMG. SO. I got my hands on a copy of The King's Speech yesterday and started watching it. And you know how sometimes there are a whole bunch of random trailers before the disc actually gets to the menu? Weeeell, apparently my brain decided that I had time to kill, so I sat through several of them. And there was this one trailer, I think it was for Made In Dagenham, which I mentally put on my to-watch list because PERIOD PIECE! EQUAL PAY FOR WOMEN! FEMINISM! GENERAL ALL-ROUND HILARITY!

AND THEN RUPERT GRAVES POPS ONTO THE SCREEN.

I literally, shrieked OH MY GOD RUPERT GRAVES OH MY GOD!, flapped my arms around, and was immediately very glad of the fact that nobody was in the apartment....but anyway, I simply CANNOT bring myself to take him seriously after Sherlock anymore because whenever I see his face anywhere, all I can think is LESTRADE! *gigglesnort*.

OH, and I'm about half an hour into The King's Speech, which is quality stuff, by the way! (even if I am a little late to the party...) It's humorous in a wry understated way and the cinematography is beautiful. AND COLIN FIRTH. <3

2) I was going through my massive collection of piano scores this morning when LO AND BEHOLD! Satie's Gnossiennes! which I absolutely adore, especially numbers 1 and 3. They're kind of whimsical and poignant and lovely and self-contained and hopefully I'll get around to learning them today \o/. It's interesting how I obtained all this music years ago and never bothered to really look at the pieces properly. I think I'm going through a sort of re-discovery phase, which is good!

I’m Kim: biologically female, currently resides in Melbourne, drinks an inordinate amount of tea, has no siblings, plays the piano, has an extremely inconsistent taste in music, likes reading (when time allows), likes writing about stuff on her mind, doesn’t write nearly enough original stuff as she’d like, and is generally a happy lark and willing to friend :) (this should probably go in the bio bit, but oh well.)

I only really have three fandoms at the moment: (chronologically in order of discovery) Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings and universe, and Sherlock Holmes, mainly ACD canon and the BBC adaptation. (these are the ones I’m most likely to flail about; there are other minor ones I can’t be bothered listing)

Though at the moment all I can think is basically SHERLOCKSHERLOCKSHERLOCK OHMIGOSH.

Yeah!

I'll probably spew all my crap on here which nobody is likely to read anyway, so.
