Abandon All Hope
[ Command, Combat, Fear, Demoralize ]
Before fighting a large scale battle, spend a point of your signature resource to display obvious signs of your might. When the enemy shows up, you gain a free good tale to give them the condition “demoralized”.
Describe: Crushing their hope, spreading fear and menace, emboldening your troops while terrifying theirs.
Examples: War drums, Head on a Spike, Pile of Corpses, Haka
Banner
[ Command, Combat, Support, Morale, Resource ]
As a neutral tale, spend a point of your signature resource to create a banner.
While you wield the banner, anytime a player chooses to “discover or escalate a threat” in combat challenges, you get an immediate bolstered roll to dissuade that threat.
Additionally, anytime after a character has chosen “surrender, pass out or die”, you’re bolstered to bring them back into the fight.
Banners are highly visible and will tend to attract enemies’ attention. If the banner is lost or destroyed, you and your allies gain the condition “Demoralized” until the battle is won or it’s replaced.
Banner: Flag, coat of arms, shield with an emblazoned symbol, glowing arcane symbol, skull on a pike.
Describe: Waving a banner, getting inspiration from a greater cause, holding it above the battlefield.

Give Order
[ Command, Combat, Support, Transfer Action ]
You can give your ally an order and your unspent Good Tale. They resolve the Good Tale instead of you, but only if they use the Good Tale to follow your order.
Describe: Shouting a command, warning someone of incoming danger, call for a flanking maneuver.
Shake it Off
[ Command, Combat, Support, Buff ]
Spend a good tale to make someone ignore all conditions that they can logically ignore for about 1 hour. Note which conditions were affected. Those conditions can’t be affected by your Shake it Off again.
Describe: Inspiring them to press on, yelling at them until they stand back up, getting their adrenaline going.

Victory Rush

When you win a fight or overcome a challenge, bolster yourself or an ally to do something of your choice.
Describe: Feeling alive, reveling in your triumphs, standing over your fallen foes, sharing in glory.
Exploration
Fortified
[ Command, Exploration, Defense ]
You may undergo a CL3 challenge to fortify any location. Once complete, the location gain the defense “Fortified [][]” which you or any ally can mark when you suffer a Bad Tale in that location.
Describe: Makeshift preparations. Improvised defenses. Coordinating efforts. Planning for the siege.

Just as Planned

When you’re engaged in a challenge for which you had sufficient time to prepare, as a neutral tale, you may spend a point of your signature resource to identify a shortcut opportunity. That shortcut will be represented by a flashback scene detailing your planning process.
Describe: drawing arrows in the sand, hashing out the plan, leaving nothing to chance.

Mount

You can gain a minion (max 1) with attributes: +2, 0, 0, -1, half of your XP and the contract “_______ will loyally serve as your mount in exchange for basic necessities.” Describe: Building a mount, calling it from the ether, ordering one from your organization, taming a beast.
Mounts: Horse, unicorn, hippogriff, griffon, manticore, dragon, boar, shark, bear, wolf, lizard, wyvern, spider.

Whenever you recruit minions through any ordinary means, they come with ½ your XP. If you use another trait which would have granted ½ XP anyways, raise that to ¾ XP.
Describe: Commanding your minions, inspiring them with your presence, leading by example, training them.

Call in the Cavalry

You can designate some of your minions as cavalry and send them off to wait and prepare. You can then use a neutral tale to have your cavalry arrive at your location, just in time.
Describe: Blowing a war horn, giving a signal, seeing them over your enemy’s shoulder, shouting “NOW!”

Companion

When you choose this trait, you receive a minion with half your XP and the contract “_______ will loyally serve you in exchange for being treated like a friend or trusted servant.”
Describe: Keeping a squire, teaching an apprentice, keeping a mercenary on retainer, traveling with a friend.
Note, if the minion arrives as the result of a temporary trait, rewrite the contract to seem a lot less permanent.
Draft
[ Command, Interaction, Minion, Recruit ]
When you acquire minions, they will bring their friends. For every one minion you acquire through other means, receive a second minion under the contract, “…as long as my friend is here.”
Describe: Promising gold and glory, inspiring others to action, leveraging your social connections, paying well.
Fealty
When you achieve glory, minions who shared in your rewards become fully committed to you. Replace the second half of their contracts with “…to bask in their glory.”
Describe: Appealing to their patriotism, building loyalty, forging bonds of honor, ruling with an iron fist.
Initiation Vows
Collaborate on a vow. Once properly initiated, all of your minions follow that vow, no matter the cost.
Describe: Creating a strong culture, forcing them to swear an oath, binding them by blood. Vows: Never reveal secrets, uphold honor, defend the leader at all costs, fulfill a deity’s dogma, stay hidden.
Rousing Speech
[ Command, Interaction, Morale, Bolster ]
Immediately preceding any conflict, you may undergo a CL2 challenge to bolster each of your present allies to do something specific during the next challenge. Decide immediately what they’re bolstered to do.
Describe: Drawing Plans in the Sand, Giving a rousing speech, Working out a plan. “Today is not that day!”
