Hey, thanks for visiting! I am Lex/snoozingrat, a queer disabled gamer, and I make games under the name Snoozing Rat Games using Godot 4.
I'm currently prototyping a party, gear, and combat system that I hope will eventually become a full JRPG. It combines a 3D world with sprite-based characters, an in-world combat system inspired by Chrono Trigger, and an elemental ability system inspired by Golden Sun. It's playable, but there's only one very small area and a single combat.
Before making any game as big as an RPG though, I'm going to make a much smaller game using these mechanics. That idea is still brewing, but will probably involve delving into an ancient Megastructure in a rogue-lite format. An expedition run goes in and needs to make it back out before the entrance they used closes and seals them in.
I am also prototyping a 2D metroidvania (search-action?) game that involves an animate chunk of obsidian and an ancient mycelial network joining forces to stop their supervolcano from erupting. It heavily uses a hookshot-style mechanic (and now that Silksong is out, I've been taking notes on how to improve mine).
I've had a lot of fun working on the pixel art for this one, particularly. Tileset and environment design is really engaging.
I also just recently released a very short game, DO THE THING. It's about executive dysfunction. The game is very short (~5 or 6 minutes), and is very free.
