Sleep regards me with the distant eyes of a jilted lover. Her cool gaze skims over me without the friction of care. My desires are of no concern to her. Went bowling with Sarah, my brother Justin, minorlight and Chris (who happens to be minorlight's boyfriend). Suuuuch a fucking great time. Sarah kicked our ass the first time and then, for whatever reason, Justin whipped up on us the second time.

I really should not have had that last rum & coke. Damn. I'm realllllllly fucking drunk. I'm so drunk, my ferret emoticon is crying.

Remember all these years I've been complaining about being swamped with work? Yeah, that was light work compared to alllll the stuff that's gotten dropped on my lap in the past week.

I've got so much caffeine in my system its not funny. I've taken migraine medicine (120mg), half a pack of Mad-Croc gum (160mg) and 2 liters of Mountain Dew (310 mg). Thats 590mg of caffeine... acute overdose is 400mg. I better stop. Good thing a lethal dose is a whole lot more than that.

That gum tastes like shit by the way.

Senate session 1, section 220. You might have heard about it. But it will turn any of us into official lobbyists, required to register and report to congress quarterly on our actions. Thats right. On January 18th your first amendment rights took a kick in the face.

I'm no legal expert but what it looks like to me, and what everyone else has been saying, “paid efforts to stimulate grassroots lobbying” is so broadly defined as to include communicating to at least 500 citizens, with no other qualifiers. With the internet, you have no way of proving you didn't communicate with at least 500 people. So, congratulations! You're a lobbyist! Better start asking Congress for permission to talk about politics. If you don't, its jail for you!

But there's hope! Senator Robert Bennett (R-UT) proposed an amendment that will strip section 220 from the measure. Start lighting up the phones for Cornyn and Hutchison. Tell them you support the Bennett Amendment.

Thank God we have the Democrats here to save us from those scary totalitarian Republicans, 'case they certainly stood up for us. The measure passed 96 to 2.
