07:50 am - Whats happened in the past 3 months. Me and the other 4 top coders of our cohort decided that we would develop a website that was centralized about ridiculing and belittling fellow classmates as a Joke. We called it Digital Man's Laughter but compressed it a little bit to have it spelled "Digital Manslaughter". Now to any normal person this would've been funny but to our school administration which is 90% mormon they found it offensive and some of them actually applied for gun permits after some of our posts (There was mentionings of skull-fucking a few of them :D). So I was supsended for the semester. I've decided not to return.
I've been living in California ever since my suspension working as a software developer for a metals company called "Universal Metals". The pay is pretty good and its in socal! :O~ Right now we're developing an application that takes the past performances of a race and works a few variants and compares it to the competition and then shows you who are the favorites to win the race. It works really well and we've been winning money at the tracks with it. The 2nd application we are working on as a side project is a little VBA quote sheet for the metals company to automatically grab the information from their Access DB (which we had to convert to, they were previously using FileMaker) and automatically e-mail or fax the company. Rather basic but its improved their productivity by 50%!
And thats about all thats happened in 3 months and thats why I haven't updated :P

02:37 am - L.A L.A is pretty nice, I've been here for close to a week now. I've been all over, Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Orange, Irvine.. etc. Pretty much all around socal and I haven't found anywhere I didn't like! I can't wait to live here. Work is going great. We've been revising a lot of code Joe did before he actually knew object oriented programming :P I've been working long hours, usually around 12-15 hours a day but its well worth it for the knowledge and the money. I'm hoping to make a little over a grand a week. But thats about it. Not much for updating lj's anymore.

01:01 am - life on the westcoast Well, I'm staying the night at Joe's girlfriends house Marie jacking the Internet from some neighbor who doesnj't know what WEP is =). But heres the story, My journey to the west coast started on noon, Friday the 27th. On our way out of Utah we had seen a SUV sitting up on top of a bridge but didn't think anything of it.. As we got closer we realized this was a cop clocking speeders. Then we passed the bridge and had a Bright Blue Mustange peel out pehind us and squad car lights flickering... But luckly, since Joe's license is suspended, he went by us and chose a car that was 2 cars ahead of us. Not even a quarter mile later there was another person pulled over, and then another, and another... There ended up being 4 cars pulled over within a 2 mile shot. Utah cops have nothing better to do than get speeders. We started thinking about this after awhil.. The mustang alone had to cost atleast $30,000. That means they would have to catch around 300 speeders before even paying for the car. Then you have to consider all 5 cops salaries, their vehicles, gas, etc. GAH... anyways.. We get out of Utah and go through Arizona (SOOOOO HOOOOOTTTTT) and then to Vegas. We met up his boss and the Flamingo Hilton it was a pretty decent casino and he bought us Lunch. We discussed a lot of business and I now have a full time job working as a software developer for him :D!!
So after we ate lunch with him he told us we had to go to the black jack tables so he could get the money he was going to pay us... It was so intense. He ended up taking out $8,800 in markers and then winning enough back to pay off the markers, pay us, and had $500 left over. I can't imagine being able to do that.
Then we had to meet everyone for dinner at ghallagers. Joe and I weren't hungry since we had just eaten lunch not more than 2 hours before. But after everyone was eating and everything the waiter accidently brought 2 extra beers (the waitress had already brought them) so then they sat them down and I decided I would drink it. Since it was a high class place, They asked if I wanted another since they noticed my bottle was empty... This went on for 7 more beers.. but then I was a little tipsy.. haha... Las Vegas is awesome, don't even get carded!!
So then we stay the night in Las Vegas at the New York New York Casino/hotel. It was the nicest hotel I had ever been in.. Omg.. So big.. Hot tub.. etc. It was a lot of fun. The only bad thing is we had to get up at 6am to drive to California because we had a meeting with Lonny at Noon. We ate at this place that was authentic chinese and it sold a lot of soups. It was called like erubis ramen or something.. It was AWESOME!! After we met with Lonny we got to work at Universal Metals and got a lot of coding done. We have promised Scott that we will finish the site by Monday.
After living all these years of hearing about Frys I finally got to be in one! FUCKING SWEET. Everything you would ever need with badass prices!! I got a $15 jump drive.
And thats about it. The reason i'm up so late is because Maries roomate sat down here and talked with me for awhile. Shes from Sweden. I had a bad opinion about her when we got here because they told me she is a stripper.. But after talking with her for well over 2 hours.. She is REALLY smart.. I couldn't believe it, She had strong opinions about American Government and swedens and just knew a lot of history and how the english language works.. It was really impressive. Shes getting married in June not for love but for a Greencard *sigh* But thats about all..
I have to be up in 6 hours to write code again. So i'm going to bed.. I'll keep everyone updated on my westcoast adventures.
OH WAIT.. I FINALLY HAD AN IN AND OUT.. BEST FAST FOOD EVER... WOoooooOooooh!!!!!

01:25 am - Life and all its beauty I've somehow found myself in the 'elites' group as some of the class has labeled us. We're the young and the proud who have explored the wonders of .NET well before ever attending NorthFace University. My roomate and I have become well known for our after-school study sessions who have so gracefully offered to any student struggling to make grade. It is hard for a lot of students because we're using a first edition book that has multiple syntactical and logical errors inside its chapters. To resolve this issue our Professor has hired us to make an application that will control all questions, answers, grades, and everything else that you can imagine a professor would need to make his job easier. I've learned a lot about inheritance and abstraction from working on this project!
Joe and I are also heading up to L.A tomorrow afternoon to sitdown with his boss and finalize an ASP .NET web application we have been developing for him. He wants it done by Tuesday--and we have a 3 day weekend--so we figured we'd go there, sitdown with him, and break it out over the weekend while enjoying the beautiful weather. And ofcourse there is the money he will be providing us for this project ;)
Katie is coming to Utah in 4 days! I can't wait!! There isn't a LOT to do in Utah but theres enough to let us have some fun and even if there wasn't, we'd still have each other. :)
But i'm off to bed, My eyelids keep falling.
