On a mission to spread joy through dance music. 🎧😁💃🏼🎵 🇨🇦🇧🇷 Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Mia Shell is a Toronto-based producer, artist, composer and DJ, on a mission to spread joy through dance music. She’s also a mom of 3, and lives an alternate life as a suburban trophy wife and digital marketing exec, complete with an MBA. Mia’s music is influenced by her Brazilian roots and love of all latin sounds, the 90s dance parties that make up her childhood, her teenage years spent in smokey basements and jam band festivals, a deep rooted love of classic rock, and a late-blooming resurgence of dance music that just about changed everything. Mia began producing at the young age of 38, after an unplanned visit to EDC Las Vegas opened her eyes to the unparalleled magical world of dance music. The pandemic hit, and Mia found her way to the Sofi Tukker streams, where she also learned about LP Giobbi and Femme House. The Femme House courses kick-started Mia’s production journey and set her off on her artist path. She’s since earned a Professional Certificate in Composing and Producing Electronic Music from Berklee, released several tracks and joined the Femme House Ambassador team. She loves to DJ house parties and has several tracks ready for release in 2023. Whether she’s throwing house parties that bring everyone together or lighting up the dance floor when she gets the night off mom duty, Mia is living proof that dance music is for everyone.
