This cake is a true classic during the Danish summer. I grew up eating this cake and it is still one of my favourites, even though it contains marzipan, which I normally don’t like, but in this cake, I actually don’t mind. And if you, like me, aren’t too happy about marzipan, I can recommend baking the actual cake the day before + the melted chocolate part and then make the vanilla cream and strawberries the following day. For some reason I don’t find the marzipan taste as strong the day after, but you would definitely prefer the fresh feeling of the cream and strawberries.

I won't really describe myself as a person who is talented, whether it is due to me not being it or because of the law of Jante I can't tell you, but let me tell you that even though I am not a professional chef, I do enjoy cooking and baking. So, after having talked with a dear Italian friend of mine I thought that I would sometimes share some of my recipes here on my LJ and DW as well - after all, Arashi does have a Sweets Club, so I guess it fits well with the Arashi theme.

I don't think it will be too often that I share these things, and when I do, it will most often be cakes and other sweets rather than other dishes.

Since English isn't my first language, I might struggle with some baking terms, but I will promise to try my best with describing the baking process. And also, in Denmark we use the metric system, so all recipes will be written according to that system.

A freind of mine is replicating Nino's jacket from the Untitled concert - the one he is wearing during Kanpai song. So if you would like to own your very own jacket, you can go here and check out the different sizes, the terms and conditions of buying + ask questions to the creator herself :)

For a while now I have been thinking whether to try to write a fanfic or not. I have always loved writing and during my schooling, teachers have often commented that I am good and that I write in a lively way that makes the reader want to continue reading and it is never dull. Whether that is true or not, I don’t know, but I do know that I like reading and writing. I like how you can be sucked into this other world and totally forget time and space – well after all I did read the Harry Potter-series in 3 ½ days :P
But at the same time, I just don’t seem to be able to get started. My difficulty has been in creating the plot, since I keep questioning myself whether I will be able to make a Japanese setting or not, but at the same time I like the challenge and think that people wouldn’t mind too much, if a few things were incorrect?
To begin with I didn’t want to write fanfictions, mostly because the fanfictions I mostly encountered have been centered around the pairings, like Ohmiya, Yama, Tennen etc. And I know I wouldn’t be able to do that – I simply don’t know enough about it – and I have always thought of Arashi as straight men, maybe bi, as that is how they get portrayed in the media and in interviews. Plus, I am much better at thinking like a woman, being one myself, than trying to write like a man. But would fans appreciate fanfics not exploring the love between the pairings? Then I finally stumbled upon some het stories, and they were actuelly very good! And I really enjoy reading those, so my worried disappeared again. But then after having those worries I kept on thinking: well, who should the OC’s main interest be? I don’t necessarily want to write about my bias, as I think all the members have each their interesting quality in order to write an interesting love story. I actually came close to considering writing a prologue that introduced the OC and then her encounters with the different members, and then write the main story in 5 versions – exploring the story she could have with each member – so exploring how the stories would develop differently if she chose another member. If you want a reference, I can say that it is just like how Voltage make their stories – having a prologue that sets the story introduces the different characters and then at the end of the prologue you choose which guy you would like to explore. But then I thought – maybe that will be too confusing?

Anyway, I know I really want to write, I just have to get the details just right before beginning. What do you minna think? Would a het story be appreciated? Do you have a special member you want to see as the love interest or maybe a rivalry pair? And how does the prologue and then 5 stories sound to you?

Please let me know your thoughts

A word that I both love and hate like the devil. Why do I like the word timing? Well because it is the only thing I can do to help the fandom, since I can't speak Japanese and I am still learning about the more tech video stuff. And the reason I hate the word? Timing takes forever!!! At least if you, like me, is quite new at doing it and at the same time has an inner perfectionist that you want to make happy. I finished my first timing project a few weeks ago, a 24-hour SP AniShi with Kanjani 8, and it gave me so much trouble, mostly because I know little to nothing about Kanjani 8 and at that time I only really remembered the names of three of them - Yokoyama Yu, Nishikido Ryo and Okura Tadayoshi (the latter I still have to look up for his given name). Other than that, I remember the members according to small episodes or events, like one of them I call "Sashimi", because of the magical banana segment from AniShi and another one I call "Ii desho" because of Johnny's countdown. Luckily my friend, Val, was so sweet to help me go through the file after I finished, both to check my timing work, but also to make sure that I didn't switch around the Kanjani boys. She was so sweet and even said some nice things about my work as a first-time timer. Well it did give me some encouragement for my current timing project - VSA - well actually I have two of those ongoing and both of them contain Baba Nuki. I look forward to reaching the Baba Nuki part and see, if it is as difficult to time as the normal VSA can be, as people interrupt each other a lot or talk over each other...so stressing XD

But truly I love being able to give some to the community, even if I work a little slow now, but I guess that only practice will make better?

This time I am making a top 10 list of my favourite Arashi movies. I decided that I would not include Pikanchi and Kiiroi Namida, but instead focus on the one-member-movies. One of the reasons might be that even though I don’t find Pikanchi to be a good movie, I would probably have ranked it high due to it having a sort of epic feel to it.

Furthermore, I must be honest – and it is a quite big spoiler alert, so sorry – but while making this list I kept thinking: “Either I am very biased in my choices, or this person has definitely been in a lot of movies that are better than the others”.

In this list there will be spoilers of the plot, but I will try not to reveal too much. Here goes...

The first time I visited London was back in 8th grade. I was in England with my school, as we were participating in a School Olympiad with schools from 15 other countries or so. Maybe I should write more about that experience in another post...?  Well but the London trip I remember very clearly - it was a Wednesday and the only day where we had no OL activities, so we got to have one day in London. What I mostly remember from the trip is that we got off the bus close to the Parliament building and walked to London Eye. We got on the London Eye and after that we walked along the Thames towards Tower Bridge. We stopped a few times, so that our teachers could tell us about the things we were seeing - Globe Theatre being one of them - until we reached Tower Bridge and then walked on it over to Tower of London. After that we visited Tower of London and then went to Trafalgar Square, where we got two hours of free time before heading back. So little time I got to experience in London and I always wanted to go back. Then during my bachelor, I considered dropping out, but my mother convinced me to stay and would give me a trip to Rome if I got my degree. Six years later and with the destination changed from Rome to London - she finally got to pay back her dept!

So, I think it might be for the best to make a disclaimer before going to the actual list. Although I haven’t experienced it myself, yet, I do know some people who have been tormented by other fans for sharing their opinions on the boys – especially if those opinions weren’t floating on a pink cloud pooping rainbows (hopefully you get the picture).

This list is mostly made to tell that even though I love Arashi, I don’t see them through a filter where they can do no wrong – like that Justin Bieber fan who once said that it was okay that Bieber slapped his grandmother after he lost a game to her, because she probably deserved it (the story of the action was fake, but the fans reaction to the story real). At the same time these reasons do not make me hate them nor love them any less, but it is things that makes them more human, whether I agree with them or not, and some of the reasons – to be honest – Arashi can’t really help or have any control of. I will state the reasons and then give my explanation. So bare in mind that these reasons also can have something to do with culture differences etc.

In case some of you don't know, I am unemployed right now - have been for a year. To get a job right after graduating in Denmark isn't always easy, especially if you like me chose to study communications.
I have been sending applications in all directions and every time I get the same f-ing answer - you lack experience. And every time I think: "How can I get experience if you won't employ me??"

It honestly frustrates me, because I want to work! (Unless an Arashi, Yamada Ryosuke, Yaotome Hikaru or Ikuta Toma comes by and marries me, then I am fine with being a housewife!!!) But I want to earn money and create a difference. This far I have been to two interviews - the first one I got to 2nd round (we were 5 for first round and 2 or 3 for the second round) and then I had an interview almost a week ago, where I am still waiting for the results - and that is the interview I want to talk about!

In all my frustrations I ended up applying for a job in Greenland - to tell the truth the job sounds exciting so I was motivated for the job. As soon as I got the mail that they wanted to have me for an interview (they are interviewing 3 people), I started second-guessing it all... And then I had the interview and they seemed so sweet and like people I want to work with, so that small piece of doubt started to fate and I began to think of all the things that might come with it. I would move to a country with northern lights (a thing I alway wanted to experience), I would be able to try and live in a new culture and thereby test myself if that is something I could do, and I would be able to mature a lot. So, my thoughts were very settled... But then I found out about their internet connection! Internet isn't the greatest compared to what I am used to, AND it is extremely expensive! Which means if I want to be able to skype with my family and still be able to download arashi files or watch netflix, I will have to pay 140+ EUR a month. And that made the bubble burst again - as it would mean that I either have to pay a lot of money to somewhat keep being active in the fandom and to keep in touch with family and friends or I would have to almost never talk to them. So right now I am thinking - maybe it is best they choose one of the other two so that I don't have to make the decision?

Because I doubt I would be able to say no...

I was wondering how I should approach the reappearance of my top 10 lists again and what I should choose to do - and then I ended up with top 10 albums! A quite "easy" list to make as there were a limited number of choices, but then again, listing anything with Arashi is never easy...
For this list I only considered their 16 studio albums and therefor the compilation albums will not appear on the list. For the ranking I considered the number of songs I like on the album, the execution, the general feel and vision of the album.

I hope you will like my ranking and I hope to hear which album you like the most :)

Wow.. Today I got to properly look at my journal for the first time in a long while.... and god has it been long since I last posted!!

I still have lots of ideas for lists... I just haven't really had the time/energy to make them lately. For those who don't know, I have been busy with Arashiprojects and I have started being a timer - so that we can all hopefully get even more subbed Arashi files... YEAH! And other than that there has been all the personal stuff. Still unemployed and looking for work (which takes up time), I moved from my dormatory and now living with sister until I can get my own place (waiting lists are too damn long!!) and lots of other stuff...

Maybe I will write about some of the stuff in another post one of these days.

At least I will do my best to not be MIA for this long again

It has been a long time since I last made a list, I just simply couldn't gather the energy I guess, but I have made the preperations for a lot of upcoming lists that I will make, although I can't say for sure when they will be made, but I will try to not let it be several months - again. But this time I have made a list of my top 10 segments from Himitsu no Arashi-chan. And this time I won't have any honourable mentions - sorry. The list is of course 100% my own opinion and as always I would be more than happy to hear your opinion as well :)

WARNING: There will be spoilers

I am going to spend the next few days sleeping, drinking and enjoying life!! And then I have to go jobhunting.

As melancholic as it may sound, it is actually a good thing.

About 8 months ago I failed my master thesis. The months leading up to that event, and a month past it, was very dark for me. I was not doing good and it showed in the final result, and in me, and the mere thought of having to undergo the stress of that situation again was so draining, that I considered dropping out of my studies and just give up all my dreams completely.

But as crazy as it may sound, Arashi actually helped me get better, especially Sho, which lead to me switching from having Nino as an ichiban to having Sho. Sho taught me not to give up my dreams even when things seemed impossible and you have trouble finding your way back to the light. The most important thing is, that you give it the best you have and then no one can expect more from you. And so I did. I talked with the administration, changed the subject of my thesis, and got a new supervisor - one who believed in my skills and abilities. And now I am close to handling in my new thesis, with a supervisor who thinks that I am actually talented and smart and it gives me so much confidence that someone, who is not my family or close friend, actually believes in me.

It has been hard at times, but I believe in the end result. And even though it is scary to not having to be a student any more, I look forward to becoming a true adult and hopefully get a job that I am passionate about. Things are finally looking so positive.

This might be one of the more special types of lists. I got the idea when I startet thinking about, which people/groups that would always make sure to provide great entertainment when paired with Arashi (or one of the members). This is of course 100% my subjective opinion, and is not meant to offend anyone. When making the list I decided only to include people, who have been related to Arashi more than once, and therefor would not contain any of the Hollywood celebrities that Arashi has interviewed or had as guests. I alsi decided not to include Ariyoshi Hanseikai, since I mostly think of him in terms with Abunai Yakai and Sho and not with other members. Hope you enjoy reading :)

I am kind of proud of myself already finishing this list. Okay I admit that I had already cut the list down to 15 songs, so I only needed to decide which ones where going to be in the top 10 and which ones would have to do with being an honorable mention. Again this list was difficult to make due to the fact that Arashi makes way too many good songs!!!

In case anyone shouldn't know (which I honestly think you all do); a b-side song is a song appearing on a single in order to give "extra value money". So they are songs that only appear on the singles and not on a full album, and those are the criterias for the songs on this list.
So let's get to it. !!

Hi Minna.

This time around I have made a top 10 list of Arashi's singles. I have decided to only use songs released as singles and not songs that are music videos (ex. Kokoro no Sora). At the same time I have decided to look at the songs individually, so that songs such as I Seek and Daylight will be judged individually although they appear on the same single. I hope you enjoy it and you are welcome to comment and tell me what your favourites are.

Hi Minna.
This time around it is my top 10 of Arashi's music videos, again I descided to make 5 honorable mentions as well, since I have trouble with not mentioning some of the music videos I like, although they just didn't cut it to the top ten :P

When making the list I considered how the song and music video fit together, the effects, styling and so much more. I am sorry if your favourite is not in here, but guess that will just be a matter of different taste :)

With the premiere of Kizoku Tentei just around the corner, I have decided to make a top 10 list of dramas that have starred the members of Arashi. I have decided to only focus on dramas that have an Arashi member in a leading role and therefore will not be including dramas with Arashi members in a supporting role. I will also not include drama specials on this list nor movies made for the dramas since I will make a seperate top 10 list for Arashi movies and drama specials. Hope you will enjoy :)

OBS. There WILL be some spoilers in this, but I will do my best not to spoil the entire plot :)
