in Longueuil, Quebec at the CSA headquarters!
This annual outlook conference brings together industry leaders, government representatives,
academics, and innovators to explore Canada’s role in the evolving global space economy. Save the
date as we look forward to having you join us at our fourth annual edition of Horizons!
Dr. Josef Aschbacher has served as Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA) since March 2021, following over 35 years in international space leadership roles at ESA, the European Commission, the Austrian Space Agency, and the Asian Institute of Technology. A scientist by training, he has led major Earth observation initiatives, spearheaded the Copernicus programme, and advanced Europe’s space strategy through his “Agenda 2025” vision. He oversees a €7 billion annual budget and a workforce of 5,500 across Europe. In recognition of his contributions, he has received high honours from both Italy and Austria.
Lisa Campbell has served as President of the Canadian Space Agency since September 2020, following senior roles at Veterans Affairs, Public Services and Procurement Canada, and Canada’s competition authority. A lawyer by training, she has led major defence procurements, enforced advertising laws, and worked extensively on data regulation and emerging business models.
Joshua Kutryk is a Canadian Space Agency astronaut and former CF-18 fighter pilot, test pilot, and aerospace engineer with extensive operational and flight-testing experience. Selected as an astronaut in 2017, he is assigned to NASA’s Starliner-1 mission, becoming the first CSA astronaut to fly under the Commercial Crew Program.
