From Zero to 160

Exactly one week ago, the Child of God content update was released in the test server. This content contains the new playable character Zero, the new world Mirror World and new systems.
I have played in the test server and in the public server. So far I have gotten my Zero to Lv. 140. I will let you know my impressions on this content later in this post, including a Q&A.
If you are interested in playing a Zero in the future, you might want to read this.

But first, I want to tell you that I have finally achieved Lv. 160 on my Evan since yesterday! If you didn’t know, Evan gets their last advancement or mastery at this level.
I think I will take a short break and wait until Critias is released in the test server, which should happen very soon.

MapleStory – RED

Hello everyone. I want to thank the people who visited my Twitch channel to see the livestream. I apologize for the random buffering but I hope you enjoyed the show.
Yesterday there was a press conference by Nexon to showcase the RED (Revolution, Evolution, Delight) update. I have seen it and I have to say that most of the information is already known and was released at the 1st Festival event. The RED update is split in three separate updates.

I’ll begin to say that nothing of the 5th Job Advancement was said. In late May, Nexon had announced in an interview that they were working on the development of 5th Job. However, because of the large amount of work and detail that has to be spent on the skills it will take some time. My take on it is that we will probably see something around winter.

Anyway, I don’t want to keep you waiting! Some interesting information has been announced yesterday, so read below the cut for more.

Do you crave for more RED information?

Hey everyone! I haven’t posted in a while but I wanted to let you know that the Thief and Pirate revamp are already released in the test server.
Head over to my YouTube channel to see my recent uploads. OrangeMushroom or also known as Max has it covered it on his blog, so you can check it out on there.

Since we are on the subject of MapleStory RED, I want to let you know something. If you are not familiar yet with the RED update, please click here.
Nexon needs to release the RED logo so I can put it on the right side of my blog for an easier navigation.

Next week on the 26th there will be a major announcement. In my RED update post I told you the following: “What does the RED update mean for MapleStory? Remember that this is just an update preview. More information will be revealed in June.”
That’s right! More information about RED will be revealed next week. I tried searching for news articles about a press conference from Nexon but I found none so far.
This makes me think that Nexon will take the same route like they did with Tempest: a press conference in the form of a video.

Captain! Battleship is ready for take off!

”Bounce! Bounce! Bouncing bombs!”

A new entry has been published in the super secret diary of Inkwell. This time it is showing one of the last classes that will receive an overhaul: Captain (also known as Corsair in GMS and perhaps other versions).
The name of the file suggests that the name of this skill is called Cruiser Artillery. Bouncing bombs. Interesting. If the image is not animated for you, you can click here to see it.

A new term in the test server will start very soon so everyone will start with a clean slate. We are very close to the first update of RED.
I want to know what will happen to Viper (Buccaneer). The first update of RED that will include the newly revamped Adventurers is scheduled for July 4th, 2013.

The broken carpal bone in my right hand is healing. I went to the hospital for check-up and received a new orthopedic cast.
I’m stuck with it for six weeks which is a bummer of course because summer is just around the corner.

Night Lord is BACK!

The next teaser is out and it’s the turn of the Night Lord. A revamp for the adventurer thieves can be expected soon.
When I saved the image to my desktop it says the name of the file is Showdown Challenge.

Meanwhile, the Bowman revamp is already out in the test server and I saw some really great new skils for the Bowmaster and the Marksman.

Many people have been speculating what the V at the end of the RED update announcement could possibly mean.
Today in an interview with Inven with Nexon it has been confirmed that this is indeed the 5th job advancement.
It is said that it is hard to give an ETA on 5th job advancement due to the large amount of work into skills of the 5th job advancement alone.

MapleStory has a lot classes and all those classes will be able to advance to 5th job. It’s a lot of work because of the so many classes out there, but also the 5th job skills have to be in very great 2D detail according to Nexon.
Chances are that it is possible this will get delayed. In response to high-leveled content: they acknowledge there is a lack of high-leveled content and they are working on it. A new continent will be discovered soon in Maple World. A new mysterious commander of the Black Mage has appeared and others are invading soon…
