Yesterday’s test server patch

Yesterday test client version 1.2.478 has been released. This update contains part one of the adventurer overhaul!
In this update only the adventurer warrior and magicians are being changed. Currently the adventurer bowman, thief and pirate classes are on hold and cannot be created.  Right now in the public server nobody can create any adventurer.

The reason I am saying this is part one is because I believe the adventurer overhaul will be split in separate parts similar to the Jump! update. The world selection screen shows the two new illustrations of the warrior and magician. Most likely the update will be split in parts because development is still ongoing. There has been occasions where other MapleStory versions released all the changes in one patch. This is possible because many months have passed and the development on the adventurer overhaul is done.

The Auction House is being prepared. User interface has been added and the NPC where you can access it from has been added to the game. But it’s not done yet. I hope I can try it out soon!

Arch Mage, RISE & MapleStory Spark

What a treat! Another entry from the Secret Diary of Inkwell! It seems they have a liking for the word ‘rise’. Because now the Arch Mage will arise again! 
It is obvious. The adventurer overhaul is coming very soon. Are you excited? Even though I returned to my blog I haven’t really played MapleStory. Just the casual log on and log off.
I’m waiting for the RED update to arrive and I’m really curious what they’re going to do about the Viper (Buccaneer) class because Viper was my main character class.

In other news, MapleStory in Japan will get a big update coming this summer!

Dark Knight, RISE

This page was taken from the Secret Diary of Inkwell. It gives players a preview of what is coming soon to MapleStory.
I hope by now you know that all adventurers will be completely overhauled in the RED update. The scroll in the image above says at the top: Reincarnation.

Yesterday the MapleStory client was updated to version 1.2.194 adding several new content. In this update it brought skill refinements and balancing to the Wild Hunter, Aran, Evan, Xenon, Kaiser, Angelic Buster, Demon Avenger, Phantom, Mercedes and finally the Wind Breaker. It added a new theme dungeon for players above Lv. 30 called the Fairy Academy of Elinel.

A new party quest Altar of Masteria has been implemented. This party quest can be accessed through Crimsonwood Castle in Masteria via the Mirror of Dimension. It is the Korean version of the GMS Crimsonwood Keep party quest but I’d say.. less exciting. Hopefully I can bring a video of this party quest to you soon.
New bosses as souls are available: Ephinia and Arkarium. I’m on my quest to get Cygnus though! A few existing theme dungeons and party quests have been changed to more convenience.

I want to bring this post to your attention. I’ve said that I discovered new job ids in the quest data in a new test server patch.
Three weeks ago a Korean user on insoya found out about a new warrior class whose name was 에테르 (Ether). He said he got it from the MapleStory executable which means an unpacked client.
I didn’t believe it when I first saw it, even though he posted images as proof of his discovery. But now I don’t think he is lying.
When I go back to that post of three weeks ago and view his images, I see strings of information related to the world merge area. This area can be accessed by all characters from all the worlds in the game. We learned about the world merge area on May 19. This means the user could not know about it three weeks ago.
Besides that, there are also strings with the name Zero in it such as: 제로 착용 가능 (Equipable as Zero).

MapleStory: RED due for summer 2013

The official livestream for MapleStory’s 1st festival has just ended. I would like to thank everyone who went to see my livestream on Twitch.TV.
I hope you enjoyed the festival even though you probably couldn’t understand much. A sweet event that happened: a girl came on stage and explained how she met her boyfriend on MapleStory. Next thing you know, you see her boyfriend proposing for marriage. Isn’t that just brave?

After many words have been exchanged, the update preview has finally been shown to everyone in the audience. As you might notice, the summer update for 2013 will be called RED. It stands for Revolution, Evolution and Delight.

What does the RED update mean for MapleStory? Remember that this is just an update preview. More information will be revealed in June.

Coming soon!

Hey everyone. MapleStory’s first festival is just around the corner and I know what is coming soon.
In the latest update of Tespia, they’ve added new jobIDs to a lot of quests in which a ”Shadow Temple” has been mentioned.

The new jobIDs are:

10100
10110
10111
10112

This means it is an entirely new Warrior job. There will also be new areas.
I’m sorry for not posting a lot of updates, but I’m waiting for the festival to begin.

Other than MapleStory I have been playing Dungeon Striker which entered open beta a few days ago.
It is a new game from the creators of Dragon Nest. I’ve been playing in the closed beta and I anticipated for the open beta release.

Amazing 10! Hot Time!

Today is May 4, 2013. Five days ago MapleStory turned 10 years old! However, the Anniversary update has already been released earlier.
There are tons of new events, Anniversary equipment and content. I will not be covering most of the events and content anymore. I have to look what is ahead of me, right?

Today there was a Hot Time event. Exactly at 2:30 PM everyone who is logged on in the game will receive a special Hot Time box.

The return of Spadow?

Could it be…? Maybe…

Hello everyone.

It’s been a long time, right? Looking at my blog, my adventure ended on the 8th of June in 2011.
That’s a looooong time! How have you been? In my absence MapleStory has gone through different updates either good or bad. Actually, the last update was bad. It made a lot of players in Korea upset.
I’m sure by now you know about the Unlimited update? An update that lifts the damage cap, level cap , raises the stats of boss monsters and the drop rate.

Nexon has lost players. But it seems the company is convinced the players will come back when the Summer update is released. Details about that will be revealed on May 19.
Why the sudden return? First of all, I’m not entirely sure if I will come back because I have lost a great amount of interest in MapleStory. I do play every day but the amount of time I spend is so little.
In my last post I said that I would continue posting updates through Twitter and YouTube and that’s what I did if you kept track.

If I come back to my blog I will maybe do it a bit differently on managing my blog. Though, would you care for my return?
I really love to blog and just spread my information to you so that everyone is aware of what’s going on in MapleStory and in the gaming world.
For the last 22 months I’ve checked my blog every now and then. If you worked so hard for your blog you just cannot delete it. It is a disservice to me and my visitors.

There you go. I might return to my blog and post updates like I used to about my adventures.
