Elder Steglich

Elder Steglich is serving in the Trujillo Peru Mission. On July 15th 2015 it will be a year. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. We miss this kid like crazy but the growth I have seen in him is amazing. He is such an example to our family. He is doing really well and working really hard. He had 2 baptism's scheduled today and one scheduled for July. He has had the privilege to take several investigators thru the Trujillo Temple during it's open house and he hopes to attend the temple there once it is dedicated. He was able to work on the temple grounds getting it ready for the open house on one of his P-Days. He has had 4 companions and they have all been native. So his Spanish is very good. He is in his second area and thinks he will still be there when they split the mission in July. If so he will have a new mission and a new mission president.
Love this kid

We just found out that Kiage has Scheuermann's disease. This is  a condition that causes vertebrae to be misshaped. He will need to be in a back brace for quite awhile. The brace will start at the waist and go up and over the shoulders. He has to wear the brace 24/7 for six months and then we will evaluate where he is at and at that point if things are looking better he will be allowed to keep it off for maybe 5-6 hrs a day. Your spine is suppose to be no more than a 45 and Kaige is at a 56. The goal is to hopefully try and get him as close to a 45 as we can. Luckily we caught it while he is still growing because once you stop growing the only way to fix it is back surgery. We will have the brace made in December, they have to make a cast off his back so it fits him and then make the brace so come the end of December Kaige will have a new fashion accessory.

Jaxton

Image
Jaxton turned 16 in August. Crazy!!! Watch out girls he can date!! He is a sophmore in High School and playing club soccer and will try out for High School soccer in the Spring. Jaxton is probably the most like me and sometimes we tend to butt heads because we are so alike. We are both so STUBBORN. But he has such a tender heart, he is so concerned about others and I love that about him. He is such a good kid. Love this Young Man.

Slatin

Image
Slatin turned 12 this last June and was able to receive the priesthood. Ryker was able to ordain him to a Deacon and give him the priesthood. What an amazing experience. So proud of both of these young men. Slatin played tackle football this year for the first time. He had some great coaches and a fun team which made him really love the game. He had a couple of injuries but says he wants to play again next year. It was really fun to watch him and maybe I will get a football player. He will still continue to play soccer. He is a 6th grader this year and started over at the intermediate school. He was really nervous at first but I think he likes it. He was just made second counselor in the Deacons. I am so proud of this kid.

Homecoming 2013

Homecoming 2013. Jaxton's first date and first dance. Ryker asked Megan Barton. He asked her with Dibs ice cream. With a note inside the container saying I have dibs on you for homecoming. She answered back with a carton of sherbert. If I was Ernie and you were Bert I'd say Sure bert. Jaxton asked Ashley Stackhouse with a a jar full of army men and a letter of his name written on random army feet. She answered back with the frozen army men. I can't remember how see tied it together but it was cute. They had a fun group and I was so impressed with how modest all the girls dresses were. I was also impressed with the young men. They planned their date around the priesthood session so they were able to attend that. Great Group. We were going the have the dinner on my parents back deck but with the weather changing suddenly we at the last minute decided to have it in our basement. Thanks to an amazing Husband we were able to pull if off and it turned out really nice. Summer made the corsages again. Loved how they turned out. We layered them with a chain and a string of pearls. I have already told her to plan on helping out for prom.

Prom 2013

Ryker took Kelci to the prom this year. They started the day off with their group  with some shooting,  lunch, Fiesta Fun, came home to get ready, pictures, dinner and dance. Kelci looked beautiful and Ryker so handsome. I think they had a really fun time.

Aunt Summer made Kelci's corsage and Kelci made Ryker's. They both turned out really nice. Kelci's has 3 strands of pearls that wrap around the wrist. Summer outdid herself.

Family Night Fun

While Chris and Kaige were having a mean game of ping pong, Slatin entertained us all with his mad jumping skills.
