Joe, Happy Daddy's Day

Image

I knew when I married you that you would be a great father to our kids.

Image

I am embarrassed that it has taken up til father's day to put you in the spot light. I swear I wanted to do it earlier.

Thank you for making us laugh. Thank you for taking care of us. I love you. Thank you for being my husband. Even though I shut you down and make fun of you when you're romantic, I hope you know I still love you. :) and I appreciate the effort.

Cheers to growing old together and being on the same bumpy road ahead of us.

We love you JOE! Happy Daddy's Day!

-Happy Father's Day to everyone else :)

Happy Birthday to YOU!

Sonya didn't want to come over 2 Laie 2 celebrate because she didn't wana miss out on youth conference. Youth conference- the dating starter... you know that's the only reason why you went ok, don't lie. haha. Kata, remember your last yc?? lol.

How ironic is it that the movie, My Sister's Keeper comes out on JUne 26 - your birthday! The movie looks like it'll end sadly :(
I love the title and feel like I can definitely live up to the title. We butt heads all the time and end up laughing at the stupid things we fought over. I hope it never changes.

I love you both!!!Image

Sunday enlightenment

"My Home Teachers are better than yours"

A woman in relief society stands up during 'good minute' to tell everyone how much she loves her home teachers. She says, "my home teachers never fail on visiting me every first day of every month. they are the best!".

Another woman stands up and says, "well my home teachers always visits me the day before yours comes".

Who's better now?

IT's now getting harder to sit in class and listen to a lesson while Kamanamau is trying to talk over the teacher. When I put him on my lap he'll squirm out of it, pound on anything in reach, and grunt & yell at the same time so that everyone stares my way. You're probably thinking "man, if that was me i would sa sa him". Yes I believe in discipline, but first I think hitting is a sign that you have lost control and second it doesn't sit well with me when you beat your children in front of people -I've had enough of that shame. We've never had time outs and I don't know what to think about groundings. Ahh! anyways, back to whatever I was saying - I didn't wana put him in nursery because he's coughing and has a runny nose. Sick? no, not really. Just coughing and the runny nose. Well, he still has 2 more months until he can legally be in nursery. LOL. you never know, i don't want the nursery teachers to ask me to show them his birth certificate and deny him to go to nursery because he's not old enough haha.

Today's topic in our combined class: PROvident LIVING.

Something new I learned was about emotional spending. Do you ever find yourself searching for something to get your loved one because his/her birthday is coming up, then you buy them the flat screen tv that you've always wanted?? Not that this has happened to me. I wish LOL. Now I have to think twice, no 3 times before buying anything.

This actually ties into a talk in the last general conference when a man wants to buy his lovely wife a very expensive fur coat. She says she doesn't need it and asks where will she wear it to. Then she says are you buying this for me or are you trying to prove something to other people?

Everyone in our apartment building has a huge flat screen tv. It would be nice to have one, but we don't need it. I always joke around and say that we should get a flat screen so we can be 'in sync' with everyone else, but I would rather put that money away for something else. If someone just happens to offer their flat screen . . then let it be :D hahaha

The Church is True. Good night.

what a night

Image
Mana hasn't been himself lately. He's not eating much (very very strange), he'll cry when I leave, he is more clingy than usual, and now he has the runs (diarrhea). I took him to see the doctor today because he wasn't eating and found out he has stomach flu. Stomach flu not swine flu. Last night I aired his butt because he had diaper rash from the diarrhea. He slept on those very big sheet-like pad things (my friend trained his puppy to poop and pee on it). He wasn't gona sleep diaper-less for the whole night, I just wanted to give his butt some air for an hour or so. Anyways I was on the computer reading my email when Mana starts farting like no other and then in an instant 'stuff' comes shooting out, like squirting kine, from his rear end! The crap got on our laptop and our bed. Ya gross, I know. I should have took the farting as a warning, but it just happened so fast. Haha ya well that was my night..and you can only imagine how the rest of the night went.

Good Morning Sunshine!

Joe woke me up at 4:30am to ask if I wanted to watch the sunrise with him. Let me just say if I was still nursing Kamanamau I would've killed him for waking me up so early. I was surprised that he decided to do this cos he had a 7am class, so there was really no time for him to rest when we came back. We went when it was dark and saw the sun peeking at around 5:40-ish. It was beautiful. Then came home around 6:30. I love my husband!!! if everyone had a man like him the world would be a better place.

These little things are what we cherish.

Back on Hawaiian soil

Hello again. We are back...home sweet home! Our trip to Samoa was refreshing, thrilling, and soooooo HOT! Kamanamau was given the opportunity to meet his great grandparents. We had such a great time. I only wish Joe came with us, but of course he was tied down with work. Not to my surprise my family fell in love with this kid. It's custom to leave your child(ren) with family if asked to and I was pressured over and over again to leave Kamanamau there, but there was no chance that it was gonna happen. If I left Mana there then I would lose my title as his bodyguard and I just love this job. The closest thing to leaving Mana in Samoa was if we all moved there. Come to think of it, my mom would put up a fight if she knew we were going to live in Samoa. Our purpose for the trip was for my grandma's birthday. We weren't the only visitors they had; my cousins from New Zealand came over too. You would think my grandparents would slow down because of their age and take rests here and there but NO, not at all. I'm telling you these people get up early in the morning to do what they do. From farming to plantation work and everything in between, they did it all. I was inspired by their strength and love for each other and their work. I hope we see them soon.
