I've just been reading through some people's journals and the comments about Steve Irwin make me sick.

I was never a huge fan of Steve, and to be honest, he fucking annoyed me a lot of the time.

However, that doesnt deny the fact he did an absolute shitload for this country as a whole. He gave shitloads of $ in research grants to other zoos worldwide and to animal welfare societies. He gave a load of kids an even better education as he wasnt afraid to get in there and get close to the animals and show them what it was all about. Kids could watch his show and actually see stuff they'd only read about in school books, and here was Steve with a croc on the camera showing people all about them.

He did a shitload for tourism and created a lot of jobs. Even giving people a go at his zoo that had no previous knowledge but just wanted to be involved. He never asked for certificates etc, but if they genuinely loved being part of it he gave them jobs. Do you know how hard it is to get into that kind of industry? So here are these people, trying to break into the industry, and Steve sweeps them up, gives them jobs... so when they go for tests, licenses etc they can say "Yup, I worked with Steve Irwin" and they're on there way to becoming great in their chosen field. Why? Because Steve was a nice guy who cared about other people. More people could be like him.

As for tourism I know a shitload of Americans and Brits who came to this country, purely to see Steve's zoo. How is that a bad thing? Steve even went to the USA and took part in Jay Leno, Letterman etc just to show our wildlife etc. Not because he wanted fame, but because he was genuinely interested in teaching people.

This ismt just like a normal celebrity dying, this is about a guy who cared so much about other people and our wildlife and just everyone in general dying.

Hate him if you want, but stop fucking giving him shit over it. I'm sure he's done more than you ever could, or would even attempt to do.

I was just reading an article on the dangers of heavy drinking and some of the results scared the shit out of me. So, I swear right here and now, after tonight, no more fucking reading!

Well, due to my boss fucking up the contract I have had my net cut off at home.

I have absolutely no money whatsoever and it will take a month til its even possible to get an interview with Centrelink to see if I can get money some other way.

I'm about to head off and buy noodles.

Oh, and I'm in a net cafe at the moment.

Good thing? I have more time for music. Bad thing? I havent been in the mood.

I had an interview at the Salvation Army this morning. I was talking to a friend in Centrelink and he said Salvation Army shouldnt have cut me off for 6 months, thats common policy. They leave you registered with Centrelink in case you need money or the job falls through. Salvation Army cut me off before I had even got to 1 week of work.

So, I let them have it and they were upset. I told them they should have waited the 6 months and was pissed they didnt. Because, if they had waited as they were supposed to, I wouldnt be in this position. I asked since it was their fuckup if they could call Centrelink and rectify it. They said no.

So, now I'm sitting here looking for part time work in the mean time. Sorry if there is double-spaces in this entry but this keyboard is absolutely shit and the space bar keeps falling... it has no springs... I'm trying to hold it up with one hand while typing with the other. I'll be fucked if I'm going to keep going back and fixing everything.

It's Mewlly's birthday in just over a week and I cant afford to get her anything at the moment.

Also, a word of warning, dont shop at Waterfront Records. I ordered a CD for her and its been a few weeks and it hasnt turned up. They wont even answer my emails, so to say I'm pissed is an understatement. I may have to just go get it from Utopia and t ry to get my credit card refunded.

So, dont expect to see me on for at least a week or two.
