American Idol - Heidi and the Top 10!!

Our Friends got some free tickets to the American Idol Concert this week and invited us to go!  It was really fun.  Heidi stayed late to get pictures with each Idol.  The concert ended at 10:00 but the Idols didn't get outside for pics until about 11:30!!  It was a late night for Heidi and for those of us waiting up for her but I guess it was worth it.   Nicole was there too and was bummed that she didn't get the autographs and pictures :(   I have a lot more from our summer to post so I'll have to add a little throughout the week.

Spring

Image
Happy St. Patrick's day!  Since it was on Sunday this year and we usually make chocolate chip cookies on Sunday, we decided to go green.  Heidi made them and they were actually some of the best ever in my opinion!

Image
Mickey is often on our white board these days as Tyler is obsessed with Mickey, Minnie, and the whole gang.  The girls have gotten pretty good at drawing him and even Tyler can draw him but I haven't snapped a pic of his art work yet.

Image
This was the first day of Spring Break.  Nicole and her friend bought these matching shirts and then changed into them from the store to the park.  Sadly, this next door neighbor friend is moving this summer :(

Image

Image
The second day of Spring Break was spent at an EXTREMELY crowded Zoo.  We never again go during Spring break but we had fun anyway.

Image
We were so lucky to have nice weather for most of the week.  Our Zoo day was the coldest but still not bad.

The last day of Spring Break we drove to Washington to hang out with our friends.  The weather was perfect for a walk to the park and some duck feeding.  These two girls thought we should go to the mall but sometimes moms just know best :)

Image
Easter Sunday was also beautiful!  The kids and the weather both.   The Saturday before Easter we went to an easter egg hunt/ pizza lunch put on by a family nearby.  It was so much fun and Tyler really got into it.  He ate every bit of candy out of his basket even before lunch!

Image

Here's a little singing lesson for Tyler.  He really sings a lot, usually making up his own songs.  Yesterday morning he was at the bottom of the stairs singing a song about Heidi and Nicole coming down for chocolate muffins :)

Nicole's Baptism

Nicole turned 8 in February and was quite thrilled about it all as you can see below.  On March 2 she was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  It was a wonderful day with both sets of grandparents here and a special surprise, her cousin Ava!  She flew here with Granny Jo all the way from Utah!!  Nicole had many local friends and family who attended as well, and the Weinberger's who I guess are local compared to Utah :)  We are so grateful for the support we receive from so many friends and family members.

We went to the Zoo with Granny Jo, Grandpa, Ava, and Uncle Chris.  It was  really fun day!

After the baptism, Tyler and I got to fly back with my parents and stay in Utah for a week.  We had so much fun hanging out with Granny Jo, Grandpa, Kelly, Hayden, Carson, and of course little HANSON (only 5 weeks old).  He was our main reason for going and what a great reason.  I could have just sat and rocked him all week long!  We even had two very warm days while there.  Always a bonus when visiting Utah anywhere close to winter!

Tyler learned a new word from Carson while we were there.  Excavator.   This one was working right across the street from Kelly's house so the boys had fun watching it.

Right before we flew back to Oregon.  We had a great time but it was also good to head back to the other half of our family!

We also got Aunt Leone to come down from Salt Lake and visit us one day.

Tyler loved the cars and trucks at my parents house.  He would wake up every morning and immediately go and find the monster truck, the tractor, or these cars that you shake up and they go.

Christmas Morning Plus

The excitement of the descent . . . .

Image

I just have to include all these of Tyler.  He started with his stocking and was just thrilled with every single thing he pulled out.  He may have been the most excited about the chocolate Santa.

He put on his Sunday shoes immediately after opening them and was thrilled with this Helicopter from the girls.

Heidi with her lute.  Her main gift is the ukulele which was at the tope of her list.

Here's Tyler talking on the cell phone that hangs on the work bench that Santa brought him.

And Nicole with her lute.  She got walkie talkies along with a detective book from Santa so she can start her own detective agency.

Decorating sugar cookies with the Weinbergers on Christmas.  We were having a hard time figuring out a time to get together and we were very glad that it ended up being Christmas day!!

A couple of days after Christmas we headed up to Seattle along with the Greg Williams family and took over Scott's sister's house for a couple of days!  It was very fun!  We went on a great hike and spent one day at the Seattle Zoo.  We even had authentic Brazilian beans and rice, which was delicious.  The McCains were great sports and great hosts!

Tyler is just loving being my assistant chef lately.  He's quite a good stirrer but often breaks out a sneeze while he's mixing.

Heidi made this top work of art at school for Scott and I for Christmas and the one below she just finished last week.  They were a lot of time and work for her and turned out great!!
