My goal

I have made it a goal to try to post something daily, for a week so here goes.

Before moving back in to our house we painted the whole basement and and put in new carpet upstairs. I all so painted my bedroom. We took over the basement so all three kids sleep down stairs. upstairs we have the master bedroom and the craft room and the Man cave. we have so much space now I love it. (I will post some pictures tomorrow of the house.)
We have worked hard on the house and the yard in the last few weeks, with both mike and I unemployed. Yes I am unemployed as well. I am trying to decide what to do. Do I want to advertise my daycare? or start a preschool? or find out what it would take to go and get my beauty licence again or go to UVU and take some photography classes? Anyone anyone I could use some advice

OK so I have been told that I am the worsted blogger that they know because I don't blog that much. Well I am sorry I will try to do better. life has just been CrAzY around my house for the last 6 1/2 months. with Mike being laid off and all. but He i will try to up date you all.
So we lived at my mom's house for the month of July. It was great. Kids had fun. The girls and I went to the pond a few times (sorry I forgot the camera) Taylor played video games with his uncle Nigel before he left for training for his deployment to Afghanistan. I was able to make dinner each night for when my parents got home from work. I loved it. the kitchen is awesome. I wish my kitchen was as big and roomy as theirs is. Someday!
So Cassidy has always wanted to ride a house and at My mom's YW fundraiser my mom bought her a horse ride. The guy ask Caitlyn if she wanted one to and so we took both girls and they got to ride a horse. Cassidy was having a hard time getting the horse to do what she wanted so the guy got on the back of the horse and helped her some. Caitlyn on the other hand is the one child who has taught herself to ride a bike, scooter, skateboard and play the piano all by herself. so she jumped on the horse and got it to do what she wanted and after about 10 min on the house she asked how do you get it to run? Oh I am in trouble when she get s older.
Image Image Image
So we moved back into our house the beginning of Aug. and it only took us about a week to unpack and get settled in. it helped to know where everything went. LOL although we took over the whole house so no more renters (YEAH). I can not tell you how much I love this. the kids sleep down stairs. There are three bedrooms down a family room the laundry room a bathroom and the kitchen. Upstairs we have the same with one extra 3/4bathroom but I now have my own Craft room and Mike has his Man Cave. Before we moved in we painted the basement and put in new carpet through out the whole up stairs. I turned the laundry room upstairs into the computer room /pantry. So nice. so that is some of what has been going on in The Hansen house. I will try to up date you more tomorrow.

We are back

OK so my life has turned upside down and then right side up again. And all I can say is what a ride.
So as many of you know we had a offer on the house and it was to close on July 1st so we gotta packing and we were out by July 25 so it gave us enough time to get the house clean. Well the night of July 30 we got a phone call from are Realtor she told us the buyer would like an two week extension, so we say OK. So we have moved into my mom's house in Salem UT. Well as time goes on you all know that we were waiting on a job offer for Las Vegas Police dept. that never came through, (you would think that someone would call to let us know something ) that is a whole other Blog.
So here we were at my mom's house, and it was good we had a great time. But then one Sat night we got the phone call that said the buyer could not get the financing so he wanted to have the option to lease to Owen, but that just did not work for us. so we told him that we could not let them move in until he owned the house. Before he told us he was backing out of the deal he made an offer on someone Else's home. oh well

So that puts us here we got new carpet and painted and cleaned the carpet downstairs and decided to move back in to our OREM home but this time we have to WHOLE house to ARE SELVES yea!!!!!
we are loving it back it really feels like a new home we have so much space now. we went from almost 1400 sf to over 2400 sf I feel like I can breath. Love it!

We had such a great time living with my parents it was hard to leave but we know now that we can make to there house in less then 20 min in Mikes car. lol

We also feel that we have really grown through this as a family. I see the girls helping one another a little bit more and there are not as many fights between the two of them. it has been great. I see that Taylor has grown up a lot as well he is almost 12 and he has been such a big help in the whole moving out and back in. He has really stepped up. and I love him for that.
We have just had a lot of faith that what ever is suppose to have will and I guess we were not meant to move. So here we are back in our home and loven it. And a big thanks to all of you who have helped us or prayer in our behave my the lord bless you as much he has blessed me .

Emotional roller coaster ride.

A lot has happened here at my house since I last posted. I feel as thought i have been on a wild emotional roller coaster.

Mike and I left for Vegas Sat April 4 as most of you know. I was looking forward to the drive it was conference weekend we could sit in the car and listen with out kids talking, complaining and so on. So we dropped the kids off at my mom's house. The kids were staying there for Sat and Sun. As we left we did not quite make it to the freeway when my mom texted me to let me know that my Grandpa Doc. (my moms dad ) was being taken to the hospital.

With my heart and mind ready for conference and the reason we we heading to Vegas all my emotions were going crazy. I started to cry and cry and cry we had to stop at a gas station in Mona to get come tissues but of course they did not have any so napkins were it.

So we get to Vegas I called my mom to get all the details about my Grandpa Doc and they don't sound good. So we began to pray hard for him.

Then Monday Mike goes for his written test. He scored a 92% on it. I was so proud.

Then Tuesday he goes to take the physical and passes with no problem. As I knew he would.

Then Wednesday he went for his Oral interview and passes with a 93%. One of the officers tells him about three times that is a amazing score way to go. Then they tell all the out of state applicants that they have to mail in their 16 page background check packet posted no later then April 30, then they pulled Mike aside and asked him to personally bring his back April 20 at 8:00 am. So we are feeling good about it. He will have to go back by hiself because I can not take any more time off work.

So we were able to leave a day early so we got home Thursday. I got home said hi to my kids gave them all hugs and kisses and then left again to go to the hospital to see my grandpa, who was still there. He was doing better but he had some close calls.

Then Friday was his birthday and we were all at the hospital wishing him a happy birthday, when my mom got a phone call from my little brother Nigel who said he was just in an accident and it was bad. He totaled the truck and three other cars. Thank the lord he was OK just really sore. Image

Then Sat morning I woke up to a text message from my sister telling me that Grandpa Hess ( her grandpa ) had died.

Then Sunday was Easter Sunday and fast Sunday as well. I love Easter. mike got up and bore his testimony. He is such a great man I love him and the sweet spirit he has. He wanted to thank the lord for helping him through the testing and tell those who prayed for him thank you.

Later that night I got a phone call fro a good friend. I could not really understand her but all i got was I need you so mike and I jumped in the car and got to her house in less then a min. When we got there she told me that her soon to be x-husband was dead. Can I tell you my emotions were shot!!!! then I thought OK so I only have to go to 2 funerals this week it could of been 4 so I thank the lord for that.

I know that at this time of year we celebrate that Heavenly Father asked his Son to return home to live with him. But lord please don't ask anyone else that I know home for a while PLEASE.

Vegas/Baby sitter

So Mike and I leave for Vegas on April 4 and will be back on the 10 if all goes well. When mike and I go to Vegas we usually have Grandma Kathy stay with the kids but this year she is not able to come, so I tried to find someone but had a hard time. Then the best person ever volunteered to come stay with the kids Mikes brother Chris. I could not have asked for a better brother-in-law. He will be ready for fatherhood after this next week :) So if any of you have a single sister or friend this is your man. :) Image
Image

Mike takes his written test on Monday witch is also his birthday. :)
Then he will take the physical test on Tuesday. after the two are done then we will go and celebrate him passing the tests and his birthday!

I am so proud of Mike he has been working so hard on studding for the test he has taken about 9 tests and gotten 100% on at least 7 of them. I can't wait to see his score on the actual test. :)

Hooker blue!!!!

This last Friday the boys were gone on a camp out so we had a girls night just Me, Cass and Caitlyn. We went to dinner then came home made some yummy treats. Then came the BIG Question of the night "Mom can we put on make-up?" and I said "Sure lets go!" So Cass was first she wanted me to do her eyes and she would do the rest. So she picked out the eye shadow she wanted (Don't ask me why I have hooker blue eye shadow I don't know) So I did her eyes and she looked at them and said no mom More! I want to look like a goth girl. So I said oh just a little bit more.Image

Then it was Caitlyn's turn she picked out the browns the ones I use. So we did a nice sweet look for her. Then she did the rest. When I saw how much blush she had on we had to wipe some off. Yikes! Image

Then came the REALLY BIG Question "Mom can we do your Make-up?" I said Sure. So Here is what I looked like when we they were done Oh baby am I hot or what. I showed mike when he got home the next day and i think he almost fell over laughing. Image

update

So just a short update. It has been a month since Mike got Laid off. I still love having him home and Love him even more. He has helped out a lot with kids, house work, homework, and running errands. But then he has also been studding like crazy for the big test on April 6. He has taken at least 4 or 5 practice tests and has gotten between 85-100% on them so not to bad. He was made for this job and we continue to pray that this is where we belong.

Changes

OK so my computer has been having lots of problems. It took me three days to post the last one. So here we go i hope that it will work.
A lot has changed in the last few days here in the Hansen Home. Some of you may know but as of Friday Mike was laid off. I have never seen him this happy. He loves to be home. My house is so clean. The kids love that he is here and can pick them up from school. When we sat the kids down Friday night to tell them Cassidy jumped for joy and said "That means you will always be home!" The smile on her face was priceless. Now that he is home he has fixed my computer. Yeah. If you ask him to do something his response is"Sure I have time." As he says it it is with the biggest grin he has. It is great.
As some of you may also now Mike has also applied for the Las Vegas Police department. He will be testing the second week of April. He is so excited about it. He has wanted to do something with his life to help people and to be able to just drive around and not manage other people on the job. So this is the perfect job for him. He said everyone has always asked "Are you a police officer?" So he said I have to look and the attitude so all I need know is the gun and badge to go with it.
Another exciting thing in our home this week I went to the mail box last Wednesday and found a big envelop addressed to The Parents of Taylor Hansen. I opened it up and there was a letter it said that Taylor has been nominated for the Junior National Young Leaders. Conference to be held in Washington D.C. this summer. What a great honor for him. We had considered letting him go until we got the new of Mike's lay off. We may not be able to afford it. But he was not sure he wanted to go all the way out to Washington by himself for 6 days. It would be a great experience but then again he is only 11.

MVHS Cheer Camp

So for the past two years we have signed Cassidy up for the Itty Bitty Bruins cheer camp. She loves it. She love to dance tumble and be in front of everyone. I guess the Apple did not fall to far from the tree. So they teach them a short dance, really short dance and a few cheers. Then they get to perform them at the Mountain View High schools Basketball games half time. So loved every min of it by the look on her face. It's priceless. So here is her performing her dance and cheers. she is in the black pants and the pink skirt.

What? No way but I thought........

So not to much has been going on that I can post at least. We may have a few changes coming our way in the next few months. More on that later. When things are more finial.( But dose anyone what to buy my house?)
Cassidy got sick with a bad cold the mid of Jan. she still has the cough but she was not feeling good on Super Bowl Sunday. So Monday the kids did not have school so I took her in to see the Doc and what do you know she has STREP! What? I said I thought that if we took her tonsils out that would be the end of it. HUM no. So now what I ask you well i guess I look in to Young Living Oils and hope that will help my baby stay healthy.

Happy New Years!!!
I hope that your New Years started better then ours did.
So Saturday We thought It was time to fix the small bathrooms toilet. So Mike started on that it was not going to well. This house is so much fun to try to fix up :( Then Mike had to stop half way through fixing it do to the fact that tonight Mike, Taylor, Glasses Grandpa, (Mikes dad) Quinn, Brandon, and Uncle Mike had tickets to the BYU Basketball game. So the girls and I went to a movie. We all got home around 8:30. Then we sat around for awhile and talked, then everyone went home, we got the kids to bed. I had to run to the store for noddles for dinner on Sunday. When I got home I went to get some water out of the fridge but it did not work so I opened the freezer and saw that the ice was starting to melt. Mike had said something about the milk beaning warm but I did not look into it. So needless to say the fridge was no longer working. So we took everything out of the fridge and put it in the garage and put everything that was in the freezer in the big freezer on the back porch.
Sunday we started our new time witch I hate this time 2:00-5:00. I got a new calling as well and started that. (the ward chorister) Wish I would have said no to this one.

So Monday morning kids go back to school. YES!!!! And I get back to work with the day care. With only one working bathroom remember. But I get a call from Mike that morning telling me that the garage door is broken. SO I have to call someone to come fix the fridge and the garage door. Then in the early morning after I get kids off to school and the day care settled back in the cable goes out but only the kid channels? I don't know? Then my computer is beaning really really slow, so I can't get on it without sitting for twenty Min's just to try to get into my email. ugh. Then as I am cleaning the living room I notice that we are missing a fish in the fish tank. And I take a closer look and yes there it is at the bottom of the tank dead. By this point of the day I said Lord please no more I can't take anymore. Then I look out side and yes we have Snow lots of it. I hate snow. So I go out to shovel it. There was about 4-5 inches by the time I finish I could have started all over again. By the end of the day I had shoveled 3 times and when Mike got home at 6:30 he shoveled again. We got about a foot or so. So here it is Tuesday morning and I have a working fridge again and a working second bathroom. YEAH. Now it is the garage door's turn. All I can say is oh boy HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! So much for trying to save money this year.......
