Somewhere Left of Starboard

Starting in October 2009, I am on a quest to find my hobby.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have one hobby already--fandom--but it doesn't get me out of the house on the weekends, and in its inability to remove me from the same premises where I sleep, it fails me.

I have a few goals to complete (write a novel about teenage superheroes, get fit, learn a language), and I hope that by dipping my toes into a variety of clubs, support groups, associations, and mixers I can broaden my horizons, make friends, meet reasonably attractive people, learn new skills, perfect the skills I already have, and generally become a kick-ass human being.

Of course, it all starts with deciding to change.
