Chico gets some bad news.

I wrote this fic for [personal profile] oz_magi, a long-running annual holiday gift exchange in the Oz fandom. You can read this fic over there or on Ao3. You can also read my long and rambly DVD Commentary on my website. There's a deleted scene!

I've also posted my Party In The Dress Factory comment fics. Once all the main works are submitted, Oz Magi lets everyone have a go at filling the prompts in a big comment thread, which I think is a very cool idea. I had fun!

The due South Seekrit Santa authors have been revealed, so I can post about my fic!

You can also check out a very long DVD commentary I wrote about my fic, which is available on my website. Featuring some snippets that didn't make it into the final fic!

You also should check out the rest of the due south seekrit santa fanworks. It was a downright bountiful year for dS fans.
I recommend feroxargentea's F/K fic and gjdraws's beautiful F/V art. Also Alexandra's fic about Frannie and Turnbull, which was very fun!

I got a fic and a fanvid about Mark Smithbauer!!! Oh Mark Smithbauer....someday I will finish making your fanclub's website. Someday.....

I finally wrote a fic for my own challenge! I was working on a longer fic but I couldn't quite get it to work. Anyway, here's the newest addition to the 1 2 SNFU challenge....

All entries welcome!

Wishes are yet to be published but the Party In The Dress Factory is on now. Go check out all the fics here. Think about writing a few, even! Everyone's welcome.

Everything's going to be posted to ao3 in the relevant collection once this year's Magi is over.

ICYMI: I'm running a very low-stakes fanworks challenge!

Details are on my website, but tl:dr;

  • SNFU were a punk band from Canada whose songs often had quirky titles;

  • the fictional Canadian punk band Hard Core Logo went on their ill-fated final tour 30 years ago this year (November 1995);

  • So to commemorate this (prior to the big movie release anniversary next year) I am running a fanwork challenge in which people write, draw or make something inspired by a list of SNFU song titles (see below).

The inspiration for this challenge obviously comes from Hard Core Logo and the C6D fandom at large, but there are no restrictions on what fandom you can make fanworks in. The challenge is also open-ended with no deadlines. Submit something whenever you want! There's a collection on ao3 and there will be a list on my website as well.

Please participate. I have a notion to run this challenge again next year but with an expanded list of song titles by even more Canadian punk bands. Who fancies writing a fic inspired by "New Wave Sucks" or "Let's Go Down To Hollywood (& Shoot People)"?

Thanks to Juniperberry and Flownwrong for getting the word out early. And thanks to portlandwithyou for being the first person to take the plunge and make something for the challenge!

If you're intrigued, check out the list of unclaimed titles (although I'm not averse to multiple people using the same prompt).
