About

I am a married working mother of an 11 year old, to put it concisely. I especially love reading, expressing myself, cats, music and, of course, my daughter (like crazy). Differences are what make the world go round in my opinion! But isn’t that something we all have in common!

My daughter is the most beautiful, wonderful light that exists in the universe and she happens to have Down Syndrome.

I don’t think I fully understand gods love for us, due to the fact I have never had children, it is that unconditional self sacrificing love a mother gives her child that is quite likely the very same love god has for us.

I’m not religious but I’d say that you are right! Thanks for the comment Missy Cawfee!

I babysat a lot as a teenager, and my favorite neighborhood kiddo was a little boy named Richard, who had Down Syndrome. He was the most awesome, loving, affectionate, brilliant little guy. We had so much fun together. It’s been twenty years since babysitting, but I’ve never forgotten him. Ever.

Welcome G.-you’ve been touched by an angel! I have done a lot of things that I regret and often wonder how I came to be so lucky to be loved and able to love this child! Some of my friends line up for her exceptionally healing hugs! I’ll send you a special birthday hug from her!

Just popped in here by way of Erin’s blog(saw a comment by you, mentioning Reid State Park-where I used to a lot when I lived in Maine as a kid) and think your daughter is absolutely beautiful(and love her gloves and hat!). I have a daughter who is now 14 and she usually makes me feel so proud of her for the kind, creative human being she is and pretty much makes me laugh every day, still.
