A top ten list, of sorts
Right, so...this list was actually made in semi-joking response to a similar list made up back in the stone age when folks were still doing those, "Ten Unpopular Opinions" memes. I never posted it because by the time I wrote it up, the list was kinda old and the joke really would have just been kinda lame. But, I figure it can stand on its own and anyway...well, I kind of like parts of it, although others may be slight overkill. :) Anyway, here we go
1) Merope Gaunt kicks ass for even believing that she could escape, no matter how beaten down she was.
2) Lavender Brown kicks ass for being the most supportive significant other any member of the Trio has had thus far not fortunate enough to be blessed with the One True Love title, and for not being the one hiding behind Hermione’s skirts when the relationship was over.
3) Parvati Patil kicks ass for absolutely ditching the Boy Who Lived at the Yule Ball when he turned out to be a truly crap date, and having a fabulous time of it anyway. Padma does, too, for pretty much the same reason
4) Romilda Vain kicks ass for at least having the balls to tell Neville to his face that she thinks he’s a loser, instead of saying that she totally respects him only to then turn around and completely ignore what he has to say. As for the love potion, I blame the two fully adult wizards who sold it to her under the assumption that it was no more harmful than a Puking Pastille. Go false marketing, go!
5) Cho Chang kicks ass for being the only permanent female seeker that we know of thus far and for knowing at the age of 15 (or 16) that sticking by your best friend is much more important than sticking by some stupid boy, even if said boy is a celebrity.
6) Fleur Delacour kicks ass, not for standing by her man despite disfigurement, but for standing by her man despite the incredible rudeness unfairly displayed towards her by every female member of his family.
7) Narcissa Black Malfoy kicks ass (Snape’s ass, no less) for being a spectacularly manipulative and scary mother.
8) Bellatrix Black Lestrange kicks ass for being a fucking Amazon in the face of all the other, simpering, male DEs.
9) Rita Skeeter kicks ass for being completely out for herself and having no qualms about admitting it.
10) And finally, Pansy Parkinson kicks ass for really believing in the boy that no one else would.
