Dear operators of the service providers,
from February 17, 2026 to February 19, 2026 a certificate change will be carried out for the following Identity Providers (IdPs):

  • shibboleth-idp.gwdg.de
  • shibboleth-idp.uni-goettingen.de
    * shibboleth-idp.mpg.de
    During this period, the IDP SAML certificates are renewed once.
    This process usually runs without restrictions, as both certificates are configured in parallel during a short transition phase.

The reliability of the service Jupyter-Cloud (https://jupyter-cloud.gwdg.de) is degraded after having suffered several outages and limitations in the final weeks of 2025. At present the service operates normally but the underlying issue remains unresolved.

New service: CoCal & instructions for importing LaTeX documents

The CoCalc service is now available for general use: https://cocalc.gwdg.de
The service provides a toolbox for working with LaTeX and Markdown documents, executing code in Python and Julia, and working with Jupyter Notebooks and a dedicated JupyterLab server.
