12:09 pm - The age of bad photography Never before has it been so easy to take pictures, and never before have so many pictures been taken. Even though bad pictures have always existed, they used to remain in the confines of one’s family album. In our modern world, almost any electronic device can take a picture. Laptops come with embedded cameras, cell phones, iPods, all have theirs. Cheap digital cameras, expensive digital cameras, all these devices come with easy-to-use file transfer cables and software that will upload a set of bad pictures directly onto the internet. The result of this is that when I open my face book page I am confronted with not one or two, but dozens of bad pictures taken on a whim by friend travelling through France, Turkey, Egypt, you name it. Do I really need to see a blurred, overexposed, tilted cell phone picture of the pyramids? A friend recently went to a carpet fair in Turkey and took over 50 pictures of carpets… most of which are out of focus. Please don’t take me bad, I love to see my friends traveling all over the world and it is great to see their smiley faces in front of the Eifel Tower but please, please, before posting, download your photos onto your computer, choose the best, only the best ones, do some Photoshop editing if possible, and then show me one, two, or eve five pieces of your ART!

08:12 pm - Happy mothers day for those of you who have children. Having children change who we are in a big way. I do not remember how it felt before my son was born. So many things have changed for me. He has taught me so many things about myself and has also made me see the world in another way, almost anew. The experience of being one hundred percent responsible for another human being is overwhelming. And wonderful. I have been very lucky as a mother, my son has given me so much joy! I hope you all feel the same about your little (or big) ones. Happy mothers day!

06:58 pm - The things we chose to share I was thinking as I logged in, so many things have happened to me since my last entry, but what I want to post in about is the leak. A giant leak in my son's bedroom wet his entire bed and now he and I are in the laundry room trying to wash all his bedding. I know this is not much interesting to any one else but us, yet that's what i have chosen to post about ...

09:22 am - Rain It is raining in the central valley. It is only Sept. I know I sound pathetic, but only those who live in the Central Valley, CA, would know what it means, to see the rain, so early, and after so long. Lovely indeed.
