1st Birthday Party

Image
And then she turned ONE! What a happy day for this sweet girl. We went down to St. George to have the party at Grandma Lisa's house so all out St. George, Logandale, and Las Vegas family could come. The weather was perfect. Lillie was in a fun mood and enjoyed being around so many people who love her. She loved opening all her presents and was excited about each one. We made her her first cupcake. She carefully licked off the frosting but didn't make a mess. She doesn't love making messes. It was a nice weekend with my side of the family.
I know I have said that I like every stage but I really do think the 9-12 months has been my favorite. I love being able to communicate with Lillie and she understands me and we laugh together and play jokes on each other. It is just so much fun. Though she also tend to get easily frustrated when she doesn't get her way like a toddler that she now is!

First Christmas

It was a really magical Christmas because Lillie was here and it made everything much more fun. I look forward to many more Christmases with many more kids around. This year we decided to stay at home for Christmas and spend it with Spencer's family. Some of the Zohners came up the week before Christmas and the Copes came up the week after so we still got to see almost everyone. We had Spencer's parents over for dinner on Christmas Eve which was very nice. Christmas morning Lillie was so excited to see her stocking and presents under the tree. I feel like with three sets of grandparents and so many aunts and uncles, Lillie got a lot of presents. We didn't have to get her much at all. We spent Christmas Day with the Whitlocks and so much good food. Lillie has such a good time with all her cousins. She is the youngest so gets a lot of attention from the older cousins. She thinks they are so cool! It was a lovely day and snowed a little bit so we got to have a white Christmas.

12 months

Image
You have started saying amen (uh-mah) after we say prayers. You don't drink bottles anymore. We started weaning and it was easy because you loved the sippy cups with the straws. You are getting really good at climbing down stairs. Your favorite foods are toast, bananas, hummus, green beans, and blueberries. We finally found a food you don't like. Spaghetti squash. You spit it out the second it went into your mouth. You love basketballs and hoops. You usually carry about one or two balls all day long and point out anytime you see a basketball hoop. You try to copy me when I say "Muahahaha". You started saying "mmm" while you give kisses. You feed Tito anytime you eat. You love your Little People farm you got for your birthday. You pretend feed all the animals and say "yum yum" while you feed them. You know what dogs, cats, ducks, and horses say. You have 6 teeth. Four on top and two on bottom. You full on walk now and will walk across the room but you still crawl most of the time. You say "two" when you are holding two things. We are working on saying "please". You don't like being left out and want to be included in everything we do. You enjoy hanging out in your crib and playing for awhile before you sleep. You are good at brushing your teeth at night before bed. You know where your eyes, ears, mouth, nose, and hair are. You like to "dance with your toes" while we drive around by holding on to your feet and shaking them around to the music. You like doing bubbles outside in the grass.

Visiting Dad at Work

We finally got to go up to Salt Lake to visit Spencer at work. It was a cold day so we bundled up and we still had fun. We got to eat at Blue Lemon, relax in dad's office and see the pretty views from the top of the Church Office Building.
