SUBOTRON is the Platform for Digital Game Culture in Vienna, Austria.

Since 2004, the association organizes the “arcademy”, a series of lectures on entrepreneurial, scientific, artistic, educational and socio-political topics with keyplayers of the global game scene.

“Pro games” promoted the local game dev talent with talks, panels and workshops provided by international experts and established formats such as live pitches, studio tours or post-mortems 2011-2021.

The series connect other creatives with the scene and support the interdisciplinary exchange.

At PLAY AUSTRIA“, the first fair of the austrian game scene, more than 60 exhibitors showed their games, educational opportunities and activities to more than 3000 visitors 2017.

SUBOTRON founder Jogi Neufeld teaches at universities and colleges, curates at the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology and is game director at an indie dev studio.

Der gleichnamige Verein organisiert seit 2004 die “arcademy”, eine Vortragsreihe mit Schlüsselfiguren der europäischen Game Studies zu wissenschaftlichen, künstlerischen, pädagogischen und sozialpolitischen Themen.
