On the JAVA issue, I was confused. I had disabled JavaScript, which is not the same thing as Java. Turns out JavaScript is not the issue, and now I can have G-chat back. It's the Java plug-in that's the issue. You can go here to find out what version of Java you're running; it's the "JDK7," or version 7 that is at risk, per Oracle, Java's creator. When I went to the link, it told me the plug-in had already been disabled. So, yay, I think. :)

It's below freezing tonight; 28 degrees at 12:45 am, so it's likely to get colder. I'm in jammies with sweatpants and a turtleneck over all. My feet are still kind of cold, so I'm eyeing SubHub's Grumpy blanket. Thank goodness I finally figured out how to use my laptop (not on my non-existant lap, but on my tummy, which works quite well) in the easy chair. It's warmer here than in the front room at the desktop computer.

All that said, I am now off to work on the second draft of the current chapter; hopefully it will be on its way to the betas tomorrow. I really want to begin posting this story in February and begin working on my ofic project.
