Visit Swiss Alps
The Alps occupy the biggest part of Switzerland territory, a total of 65% of the country’s surface is covered by these imposing and beautiful mountains. Despite the large territory that the Swiss Alps reserved in Switzerland, this less than a quarter of the surface of the entire mountain chain. The Alps spans over 8 countries ( France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Slovenia, and Switzerland) but in Switzerland, you can find 48 out of the 82 over 4000 meters tops of the entire mountain range.


The mountain chain
The mountain chain is divided into two big parts, the West Swiss Alps and the East Swiss Alps. In the West part you will find the highest peaks and passes like Jungfrau, Montblanc, which is the highest point of the Swiss Alps, Matterhorn, Monte Leone, while in the East part you will find a region with a beautiful countryside, salt mines, and ice caves and if you arrive in the summer or spring you will be amazed by the variety of wildflowers and incredible colors.

In the north, the Swiss Alps are crossed by three beautiful rivers, Rhône, Rhine and Inn while the Southside you will find the Ticino River. The biggest dams in the world are formed in mountains, naturally or artificially which makes the Swiss Alps a perfect place to find crystal clear lakes like Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, Walensee, Blausee and others.
