Ncaa Tourney

The Gardner family NCAA tournament contest is always a great time at our house.

There are about 70 people that play... Only I rule... You have to be a Gardner.

This year Carson and Parker are in the Finals and can claim the top prize. Only 1 minor problem. Carson has to have Michigan State Win and Parker has to have Butler win. This post is at halftime and the game is tied.

No clear winner yet but Parker threw the first punch 4 minutes into the game.

Enjoy.

The "Rainiest" place on Earth

In January our family went to Disneyland with my brother and his family. We also met up with David's sister Trenna and Jon. It was like having a mini family reunion. It rained, and rained, and rained, and rained. Rain was coming out of the sky, coming sideways, and coming out of the ground. The wind would blow so hard they were having tornado warnings. It was the worst weather they have had in two decades. But it was the funnest time we have ever had at Disneyland!! There were no sane people in the park. The rides were empty and we were able to walk onto the rides with no lines. Yep, every ride was open and in fact sometimes they would let us stay on the ride if we wanted to go again. It was like having the park to ourselves. We saw every show and movie and the characters would interact with us on a personal level because no one else was around. In fact one of the workers mentioned in the years he had worked there he had never seen the park that empty. I guess it was a bittersweet vacation! Crappy weather but GREAT service!

Image The boys favorite charater was Goofy

Image There would be a couple of hours of no rain and warm sunny weather a day. We would take advantage of those times.

This army guy from Toy Story was giving Landon a hard time about being a "Navy" boy. He was a little offended. It was funny!

David made us eat In-N-Out four times on our trip. Finally, my boys begged him "NO MORE IN-N-OUT!!"

Dallin is Two

How do you go from this:

To this:

I can't believe my baby is two! Time has gone too fast.

Grandma and Grandpa Gardner got him this sit and spin and he LOVES it!! Grandma and Grandpa John gave him money that will be used for damages rendered by a two year old. I am very impressed on how organized our parents are while both on missions. They are very good about not missing a birthday! Now let me tell you about the damages:
1. Somehow our toilet kept getting clogged until one day we came home from a family outing to water coming through one of our lights in the kitchen. It is never a good thing to see water coming out of your ceiling. We called the plumber and he told us we needed a new toilet because something was stuck in the base and he could not get it out. Come to find out it was Carson's missing toothbrush. After a new toilet and our ceiling being torn apart and dried out we are back in business.
2. Every child comes with their many talents. Carson loves balls, Landon and Parker love cars and puzzles and yes Dallin LOVES balls. I have to say his hand and eye coordination are very advanced. He plays baseball and golf and hits the ball every time. Its amazing what he uses as balls, bats, and golf clubs. I would be a very proud mother except the new object is my Christmas Tree! That's right, he thinks the balls on the tree are to hit and throw. Bats, golf clubs, brooms, books, have all been used to get the balls off my tree. I know when he strikes one because I hear the "Uh ooh!" and he starts booking it away from me with a little giggle.

With all the adventures Dallin brings to the household we sure love him!! He is a very happy and energetic boy!

A Heaven Sent Email

My dad sent me this, and I have to say it was so needed. Its so nice to stop during my busy life and remember the real reason we are all here on this earth.

Day 3

I slept good last night. I went to bed about 930 and woke up at 330am. After checking the Cowboys victory I went back to sleep until around 630. I have acclimated very well but I get up very early. Today I met with a Vietnam government official who talked about how Vietnam was moving towards a more market base economy. This is a big deal for them they call it Doi Moi.

Here is a picture of a woman who I guess recycles cardboard for a living. Everyone rides scooters.

We also met with the CEO of the second largest bank in Vietnam. Wow does Boise State have connections over here.

Image We also went to a water puppet show, which is a really neat gig and doesn’t cost a lot of “dong”. (money)
