Background: Aledy Naash is one of the Shura, dimension-travelling martial arts warmongers who come from a world known as the Land of Waves. For the first seventeen years of his life, Aledy was steeped in the warrior culture of the Shura people, to the exclusion of all else. He ate, slept, and breathed combat, training under his master, Cindy Bird, to help fight against intelligent, rebellious Shura Gods known as Rasetsu-Ki and investigate the mysterious Einst-like crystals appearing across the Endless Frontier.

Aledy was suddenly and forcibly exposed to cultures outside the Shura by the advent of Neige Hausen. Neige dragged Aledy out into the world, giving him a new perspective on life and new, exciting adventures involving violence and breast jokes. The two of them recruited Aledy's Shura God, Ark-On, during one of these adventures - shortly before dimensional shenanigans cast them out of the Endless Frontier and into the UVerse.

Original canon background: This application assumes that Ark-On, as a Rasetsu-Ki, grew to massive size after coming through the Crossgate. Within the Endless Frontier, Ark-On is a human-sized midget mech. On the Other Side, it is a proper Shura God.

Personality: Aledy Naash is a warrior first and all else second. A consummate Martial Artist like all other Shura, Aledy is a Blood Knight who seeks challenge wherever it can be found. He battles because it is the Shura Way - they fight, and fight, and keep on fighting, until they have reached the peak of mastery. Then they find a new way to fight, and start fighting some more. Their entire culture is governed by the martial arts - everything from social status to the outcome of arguments is determined by martial arts skill. Coming from such an environment, it's no surprise that Aledy has little experience with anything that isn't kung fu.

Aledy approaches situations directly. He is a brutal and skilled warrior, and has little problem going for killshots when it's the most efficient way to fight. He was trained to do so, after all. It is the Shura Way to Kill Or Be Killed - there is no grey area there. Aledy has a great deal of trouble interacting socially as a result of both the alien culture of humanity, and the general strangeness of polite society. Humans have rules the Shura don't. Humans are outlandish and strange. Aledy doesn't understand 'politics', doesn't understand 'manners', doesn't understand 'romance', doesn't understand 'art' or 'music' or...well, pretty much anything humans do. He misses the point of situations constantly, usually for comedic effect. Alone, Aledy would probably drown under the pressure of attempting to understand these strange creatures, like most Shura.

Unlike most Shura, however, Aledy has a tempering factor - Princess Neige Hausen. Neige is a major reason Aledy gets involved in things - often not by his own will. Neige rarely has to drag, however - Aledy's strong sense of justice means that, once his hot blood starts to boil, he throws himself headfirst into the situation and keeps going until he's satisfied. Neige just gives him a little push and watches Aledy take charge. When Aledy gets going, very little can stop him. Like most super robot heroes slash martial arts protagonists full of hot blood and justice, Aledy is all about a burning heart and iron willpower. He rises to challenges of any nature if they're presented, whether or not he actually has any *skil* at the thing he's being challenged to. Fishing? Rock Paper Scissors? Grades? He'll do it! He'll probably *lose* at it, but he'll do it. He never shies away from new experiences.

Aledy's biggest trigger buttons are "hurting Neige" (of course) and "being challenged or insulted directly".

While Aledy starts out without much initiative or drive on his own, Aledy eventually learns about people, love, and friendship beyond just being dragged around by a tsundere elf princess to fight things. He breaks away from the culture of the Shura and finds a place in the world that doesn't require him to kill or be killed.

Capabilities and Resources: Aledy is a Shura, which means he is a practitioner (and master) of the super martial art Kishin-Ken - "Machine God Fist". Aledy is a prodigy of martial arts, even by Shura standards, and possesses a huge amount of Ki, which is part of what keeps Ark-On tame and active. He can do most of the Standard Martial Artist Bullcrap Tropes - sensing fighting spirit, sensing killing intent, reading attacks through emotional states, catching bullets with his bare hands, fighting through intense pain, that kind of thing. As a fighting prodigy, Aledy learns martial arts styles much, much faster than normal people.

Aledy is also a master of the forbidden style, Haou-Ken. Haou-Ken allows Aledy to pull ridiculous Dragonball Z antics - shooting laser beams out of his hands, punching people distances measured in yards instead of feet, that kind of thing. He is perfectly capable of shooting laser beams and firing Kishin-Ken Haki Dragons on foot, though against actual robots, Aledy is going to wind up in Ark-On if he wants to live. He cannot fight giant robots on foot. He would like to.

Aledy can use Kishin-Ken in any robot he pilots. He cannot use the Haki Dragons of Kishin-Ken, nor any of its higher techniques, nor ANY of the Haou-Ken techniques, unless the robot is controlled with a Direct Motion-style system. Punching people is one thing - shooting your kung fu soul dragons through a pair of joysticks is substantially more impossible.

Type: Combatant

Unit Name: Ark-On
Unit Description:

Ark-On is one of the Super-class Shura Gods, mysterious leftovers of the Shura civilization before the fall of the Land of Waves. Originally one of the rebellious Rasetsu-Ki, Ark-On was defeated in a trial by Aledy. This trial gave Aledy the right to command Ark-On, and bound the two together in the semi-mystical contract Shura Gods have with their masters. Feeding off Aledy Naash's absurd Ki reserves, Ark-On fights alongside Aledy, lending its power to Aledy as a silent (though empathic, and semi-sentient) partner. It is controlled through this empathic bond, and a system much like the Mobile Trace - one that transfers the pain of the God to the pilot, and the motions of the pilot to the God. Occasionally, in desperate times (or when Aledy's will slips), Ark-On can assume direct control as a reflex. If Aledy's will slips so far that Ark-On can simply take control permanently, it will do so, transforming the Shura warrior into a battery so it can rampage as it wills. Such is the danger of a Shura God. Of course, it also cannot be stolen, since Ark-On has chosen Aledy as its pilot. Any attempt to steal Ark-On or Gundamjack it would result in the life force of the thief being drained to power Ark-On. It is lethal to anyone who is not a sufficiently competent Shura or Martial Artist.

Ark-On possesses most of the standard traits of a high-power Shura God. It is powered by Aledy's Ki, and is capable of using that Ki to regenerate and bolster its own capabilities substantially. Aledy's martial arts skills are Ark-On's only weapons - like all Shura Gods, the only weapons it needs are its fists. This is not much of a deficiency - between the Haki Dragons of Kishin-Ken and the ridiculous energy blasts of Haou-Ken, Ark-On has no particular need for weapons. When you can punch things through mountains, plural, who cares about weapons? Heck, never mind punching things through mountains - shooting freaking laser beams out of your hands is way betterthan guns.

Ark-On does, however, have a very glaring weakness, one that most people would never consider - its own instincts. Ark-On's survival instinct is immense.. In a situation Ark-On is likely to be destroyed in, Ark-On will fight Aledy's willpower. This is not an efficient situation - when the robot disagrees with the pilot, it becomes much more sluggish and much more vulnerable. These situations are rare, and generally reserved for truly horribly powerful cosmic monsters, but they're also the exact sort of situation you DON'T want your robot disagreeing with you in.

In the Endless Frontier, Ark-On is human-sized. This is hilarious. It is normally a Rasetsu-Ki, and has only become a Super-class Shura God through Dimensional Shenanigans.

The lesson here is that Crossgates are hilarious.

Wingmen: Aledy's sole Wingman is Princess Neige Hausen of the now-destroyed Elfetale Kingdom. Neige is a faerie of the Endless Frontier, a hundred-and-seventeen-year-old tsundere princess with a laser slash sniper rifle sword guitar, exploding apples, glass coffins, and summoned magical mirrors. A textbook tsundere, Neige joined Aledy on his quest more or less by accident, seeking vengeance on the Einst for her kingdom's destruction, and rapidly totally didn't fall in love with him, seriously. Really. Don't suggest it.

Neige lacks a robot of her own. She rides side-saddle/sub-pilot with Aledy in Ark-On, occasionally contributing her "advice" (demands) - or, more usefully, shooting at people from Ark-On's shoulder or hand. She also offers her spirit commands to Aledy like any good subpilot ought. She is most valuable to Aledy as his motivation to get things done - in that she forces him to do things and get involved in stuff. She's also savvy in the ways of politics and culture, which makes her an excellent resource for Aledy to draw on when he completely goofs up - on the occasions she feels it's necessary to help him, and not more amusing to watch him fail. Her magical knowledge may also come in handy if La Gias gets put on the map.

Sample post:

"We appear to be outnumbered," Aledy Naash observes slowly. As his head tilts to the side, so too does the massive Shura God Ark-On's, offering him a better view of the creatures that surround his machine. Still, the Shura warrior is calm. Being outnumbered meant little to Shura. He trusts in his Kishin Ken.

He wishes his partner would do the same. The irritated look on Neige Hausen's face is a common sight for Aledy. The Elfetale Princess-In-Exile got angry at him a lot. Almost constantly! He often wished to know why. The ways of non-Shura were strange indeed, as Master Bird had often told him.

"Well, whose fault is that?!" Neige demands from her place in the cockpit. Aledy tilts his head back to look at her. He didn't really need to - he could sense her presence, her life force, her Haki, just fine. But he liked looking at her. It helped him know exactly how angry she was at any given moment.

As he glances at her face, Aledy decides that Neige is clearly in the 'volcanic' stage of anger. There was a right path here. But what would Neige do in this situation? Didn't she say that, with women, honesty was the best policy?

"Technically, Princess, it was you who suggested we take that job in the tavern, so I suppose it is technically your fau-"

WHACK.

The creatures milling around the Ark-On pause, looking on, stunned, at the sudden palm-sized imprint spreading across the Ark-On's head. Its hand goes to its cheek, and it stumbles backwards, mimicking its pilot's actions.

"ALEDY, YOU IDIOT!" Neige shrieks, "YOU'RE THE ONE WHO DECIDED 'CHECK OUT THE DISTURBANCE' MEANT 'PLUNGE HEADFIRST INTO THE NEST OF HORRIBLE MONSTER THINGS'!"

"It was the most efficient course of action! And you said that honesty is the best policy! You said that!" Aledy protests.

"UNLESS IT'S ME! THEN YOU SHOULD LIE TO ME TO MAKE ME FEEL AWESOME!" Neige retorts, her voice filling the cockpit full-blast. "THAT'S YOUR JOB! PROTECTING ME, MAKING US MONEY, AND MAKING ME FEEL GOOD ABOUT MYSELF!"

Aledy crosses his arms and considers. One of the strange creatures outside lopes forward to inspect the apparently-off-guard Ark-On.

It is dispatched with an off-handed tap to the head. It crumples to the ground, twitching helplessly. Ark-On rubs its chin.

"Oh. In that case, Princess, allow me to make it up to you."

Neige's eyes widen as Aledy moves forward. "H...hey, what are you...what are you...hey, no! Hold on, I-I didn't mean-"

Aledy wraps his arms around her. Neige's face turns red. Aledy looks up.

"The disturbance is growing beneath our feet. It would be wise if we stuck together to avoid any potential problems."

"Wait, wh-"

The Ark-On, its Shura Pilot, and the Elfetale Princess-In-Exile suddenly fall straight through the ground.

The assembled creatures exchange confused glances. They look at the ground. They look at each other. Then they slowly turn and back away.

They may have telepathically agreed to never speak or hive-think of this again.
