Can Tara Energy help me transfer services when moving within Texas, and what fees apply?

Yes! Tara Energy makes moving simple. When transferring service to a new Texas home, you can choose your preferred start date, and if you enroll before 12 PM CT and have a smart meter, same-day service may be available for move-ins. Any applicable fees will be detailed during enrollment so you know exactly what to expect.

Does Tara Energy offer price-protected fixed terms (12/24/36 months) with renewal reminders?

Absolutely. Tara Energy offers fixed-term electricity plans with 1, 24-, or 36-month terms, helping you manage your energy costs with peace of mind. You’ll also receive reminders before your contract ends, giving you the opportunity to renew, switch plans, or adjust your service based on your household’s needs.

How can I contact Tara Energy if I have questions about my bill?

If you have questions about your Tara Energy bill, contact our customer service line at 866-438-8272. Commercial service customers can contact our dedicated commercial service and support line at 866-246-5985.

  1. If additional information is not required, you have a smart meter, and your enrollment is received before 12 PM CT, your enrollment may be accepted on the same day. Same day enrollment only applies to move-ins. Speak to a customer service representative for more details.
  2. Terms and conditions apply. The Refer-A-Friend program is applicable exclusively to Texas customers. Tara Energy retains the right to modify the credit amount at its discretion, and the issuance of credits is subject to the company’s discretion. Upon successfully enrolling a new customer (Referee) in a residential plan lasting 12 months or more, using the unique Referral Code of the referring customer, and upon the Referee’s payment of their initial full-month Tara Energy electricity bill, both the Referring customer and the Referee will each receive a one-time bill credit within 1 – 2 billing cycles. It should be noted that Tara Energy holds no responsibility for issuing bill credits on enrollments received without the Referral Code. The bill credit possesses no cash value and is solely applicable as a credit on an active customer’s Tara Energy bill. Any remaining bill credit will be carried forward to the next billing statement and is non-transferable. This offer is valid solely in conjunction with applicable plans accessible directly on our website or via phone. Each customer must maintain active status, their account must have an on-time payment history, and must remain on a postpaid residential plan throughout the referral process. The referral code must be used during enrollment and cannot be applied retroactively. Tara Energy referral codes are exclusively valid on plans offered by Tara Energy. Employee electricity plans or referrals do not qualify for Refer-A-Friend credit. The unique referral code of the Referring Customer is unlimited in its usage.
  3. Energy discounts are only available to Texas customers. GoodBundle subscription benefits—including up to 1¢/kWh off an eligible energy plan, 10% off a HomeWater filtration system, waived late payment fees, and carbon offsets of up to 2,400 lbs annually—vary by subscription tier and are subject to applicable terms and change.
