Traditions must live on!

When we were little/much younger (my cousins and I), like some families, would act out the nativity. We haven't done it for quite a few years cuz we all got older, and soon the family had no "little kids" to play the parts. So the last few years we would just watch old home movies of us doing it when we were younger... This year, we went back to our roots, with or without little kids... Yes, it was somewhat embarrassing, seeing as how this was the first family holiday party my husband has gone to.... but we had fun doing it, and I must have done well cuz Jason still brought me home with him. :)Image The KEY players.

Image We look pretty WISE... don't ya think?

ImageChad and Tanner were Shepards. Lincoln was one of the donkeys (Bryson was the other, that Mary rode in on... he's not in the pic). Kelli, Carly, and I were the 3 Wise (Wo)men. The other 3 kids are the kids of Bryson's girlfriend.

Merry Christmas, Caleb style

For those of you who know my brother, you know he has a unique way of doing things, but they are always entertaining. He is currently serving overseas for the second time and will be home in the spring. Thanks to the troops for all you do!

Dang dogs!!!

The puppies are walking everywhere now. The first thing they do when they crawl out of the bed is pee on the carpet. So I put down some newspaper. We later went to my work Christmas party, and came home to this.....
ImageApparently Sadie, Sadee, and M had some fun with the paper. They're lucky we thought it was funny.ImageJust thought I'd throw in this pic cuz they're just too cute to not. :)

Snow Play

Since we don't have kids, you will be seeing a lot of posts about our dogs I'm sure. They are so cute, but don't let them fool you. They can be lil brats too! Image ImageImageThe snow gets packed around their legs, like a hundred lil snowballs. Then when they go in, and run around, they are EVERYWHERE!

Puppy update

They grow up so fast!!!

This is one of the cute lil boys. Notice his spotted nose. :)

M let Sadee play mom for a bit. She was so cute trying to play with them and cuddle. Sadee loved it!... until one of them went for milk. It kinda freaked her out. It sure was funny tho.

Brotherly love.

Notice the white M on the girl's back (one on the left, tip your head to the left if you still can't see it)... Mama's name is M. Crazy!!

Thanks!

With Thanksgiving now behind us, I just wanted to take a moment to be thankful for some people in my life. I'm thankful for so many things, this is only a start to my list...
ImageI'm thankful for my family. My family has been through SO much. But even with all our ups and downs (especially the last 3 years) we have managed to come out on top, and we did it together. Both my immediate and extended family, are so supportive and loving. I know I can count on any one of them for help if I need to.
ImageI'm thankful for my dad. Even tho my parents were divorced when I was 2, he has always played a HUGE part in my life. He's always been there for me when I had a big game, I needed help, wanted to travel, or just had a bad day and needed some cheering up. He can always make me laugh. Either he has an endless list of dirty jokes, or he just saves them all for me cuz no one else will laugh at them.
ImageI'm thankful for my loving husband. He has shown me more love in the last few months than I have ever had before. He is so supportive of everything I want to do. I know I can be difficult at times, and he handles it well. :) I'm looking forward to living our life together and growing old with him.

I'm thankful for my many friends. I have so many good friends. But the 3 that would top off the list would be Brandi, Tessa, and Reena, for they have put up with me the longest. ;) Although, we've all had our ups and downs, I know they'd always be there for me. Brandi has been my friend for 21+ years! (wow!! that makes me sound really old.) She's been there with me through it all! Tessa and I have known each other for 12+ years. At first we hated each other, not really knowing why, but ended up being best friends. Reena and I have known each other for 10+ years. She has a 'good ear' and would never judge me.

We have new additions to the family...

M had her puppies last night! They are SOOOO cute! And M is doing such a great job at being a mom. We are thinking that the dad is the Shitzu down the road. I was thinking I may call the AKC and propose the new breed. If there can be Shnoodles, Puggles, and Chi-weenies, then why can't we name a breed too? :)

Mini Shnauzer + Shitzu= Shiznit or Mini Shits. Which sounds better? Do you think they'll take my idea?

Reception

Image Image Image

The reception turned out great! Thank you to everyone who helped. It was so good to see so many of our friends and family, and we miss those who couldn't make it. Here are a few pics for you to see. It was kinda a "starry night" theme, with a dozen tables each with different shades of blue satin table cloths, and each with a different silver vase. Small white lights lit the room. The chocolate strawberries and chocolate pretzels were a hit! I'm so happy how it all turned out, and I'm even happier that I married such a great wonderful sexy man. I'm so lucky.

(missing: Jason's sister Brittney and my brother Caleb, who is in Iraq.)

Special thanks to the moms!

You guys are amazing and thank you SO SO much for everything you did for us, and for all your support.

We Love you!

I've been tagged!!!!

Thanks to Reena, I've been tagged to list 7 interesting things about myself. So here goes...
  1. I truly HATE, with all my heart, SOGGY BREAD or anything like it. Even the thought of that texture in my mouth makes me wanna puke. (like french dip, pot pies, etc)
  2. I have dimples high on my cheeks.... On my face! Not my butt... hopefully not on my butt anyway. Maybe I should check...Image
  3. I used to shoot competitions on a national level. I shot 22 rifle, muzzle loader, shotgun, and archery. Been to nationals 3 times.
  4. I have a double jointed thumb.
  5. I HATE shopping!!!
  6. I'm quite a movie buff, and a sucker for celebrity gossip.
Image
7. I have never broken a bone and the only surgery I've had was a tonsillectomy.
Image
Now I suppose it is my turn to tag people. So.... Mom, Chris/Tiff, Hanne, Erica, and Ashley.... TAG!!!! You're it!!! List 7 interesting things about yourself.

Losing Weight.... Men vs Women

ImageWhen a woman wants to lose weight and get in shape, she has to work extra hard for it. She quits drinking soda, eats smaller portions, chooses healthier things to eat, and exercises everyday. When a man decides to lose weight and get in shape, it's almost like the second he decides to do that he automatically loses 3 pounds right there in front of you. They don't have to even try! You begin to realize that those SlimQuick commercials are SO true. For example, I've been trying to get back into better shape, and be not-so squishy in parts. I quit drinking soda for 7 months, went running almost every day, and was making better choices about what I ate. Did I lose any pound-age?? NO!!!ImageThe last two months Jason and I have been trying to eat better, cut back on soda, and exercise daily. We pretty much eat the same stuff, we both play sports which make us run our butts off.... do I lose any weight?? Of course not! Does he? Yes! Probably more than he should too. So what's the deal?? That just doesn't seem fair.
Image
Of course I'd like to look like this picture!! This is my goal. Someday I'll be there.... I'm trying to lose weight and tone up. Any advice on diets, losing weight, or secretly fattening up the husband to make me look better is greatly appreciated. ;) Good luck to all the women!

Wuv.....Twue wuv....

ImageThe secret is finally out, not that it was THAT big of a secret. People knew we were getting married, the secret was just WHEN we'd be getting married. We got married today in Lundstrom Park. It was a small ceremony, no family was invited believe it or not... we decided to do things our way, we did, and couldn't be happier!

For those of you who don't know, which is probably a lot of you just because this happened so fast, here is a lil background for you. Jason and I met initially 3 years ago. According to him I "blew him off". But I had a boyfriend at the time, and we all know that Jason was prob a lil too cocky. ;) Jk babe! Then two months ago we crossed paths again, without the help of our moms this time, and we totally hit it off. I have never been so happy and things have been so great!

Image

Sure do LOVE this man!!!!

Sealin' the deal. :)

Jeremy and Brandi, some of our two closest friends, were our witnesses.

Our reception will be Nov.15th, and everyone is welcome to come and celebrate with us.

What have I got myself into...

I hated Myspace. The idea of it, anything to do with it, and anything like it. It was almost annoying to me. But then came the day last year when I asked Tessa for some pics of her baby, and she refused to email them and said "get a Facebook account, and you can see all of them." I shuttered at the idea, thinking it was like myspace. But, soon enough I signed up. I actually find myself addicted at times; finding old friends, browsing through people's photos, poker, and of course those wonderful quizzes that tell you how smart you are or what color your personality is. Then came the next hot thing... Blogging. It seems that most the people that blog, blog about their kids. Well, I have no kids, so I wasn't planning on blogging for a LONG time... but then my lovely friend Reena, convinced me that I should. So here I am. Yet again falling to peer pressure. What have I done!? ;)
