So you think you can dance...

Our little town has a "Movie in the Park" night in the town square. While waiting for sundown, they play music. Teagan was the entertainment for most of the park!

He jumped up and just started dancing...causing people from all around to stop and watch his break dancing moves! We've decided to enter him into this season's competition of "So you think you can dance". Sorry it's a little grainy, it came from my phone camera.

Enjoy...and vote for Teagan by texting...

To all the Scorpions!

This is just a little warning to all you gross scorpions in Texas. STAY OUT OF MY HOUSE!!! If you don't, you will meet the same fate as your former scorpion friend.

Travis flew home for his brothers graduation for the weekend. Sunday night I was up late waiting to go get him from the airport. (His plane didn't land until 11:00 pm) So there I was chilling and watching a really dumb movie. When I look down and I see a scorpion walking across the living room.

I hate bugs. I mean, I really HATE bugs. And this wasn't some tiny bug, we measure it later, and it was over 2 inches long! I sat there not believing my eyes. Finally I got up and found a few phone books... Okay, we have 6 sitting around our house (I use them to squish bugs). I grabbed all 6, and I started throwing them. Now, you may not know this, but scorpions are very fast. That little gross thing just kept running away. Finally I got him, and just in time, he was about to run behind the piano. I threw one phone book on him, and quickly threw all the other ones on top of him. Then I jumped on the pile of books for a while, all the time having gross bug chills! (You know the chills you get when you have to take nasty cough syrup? The same ones!)

Now, having trapped him on the carpet, I was worried that he would just burrow down, and not die, and then would sneak out from under my mountain of phone books and hide behind my piano and torment me for the rest of my life. I called my wonderful sister, Jennifer. She lives about 900 miles away, so I knew that she really couldn't help me, but I needed some moral support! (Thanks Jennifer you are good at that!) With my sister on the phone, I lifted up all 6 phone books with the handle of the broom, and found the gross bug squished in the carpet. I threw 3 phone books back on him, and left his gross body there for Travis to clean up. (I figured if another one showed up I needed at least three of my phone books!)

So finally the time came for me to go get Travis and Heidi from the airport. And we got home a little after midnight. Travis picked up the phone books and scooped the scorpion into a bug container that we have. The stupid bug was still alive. I threw another phone book on the lid to the bug container, because I didn't want it to escape. Travis wanted to research what kind of scorpion it is. That stupid thing wouldn't die. (He was squished by 6 phone books, jumped on, air holes of the bug container covered with a phone book.) Finally Travis squished it and if you are squimish I don't recommend being in a room where the scorpion is being squished because there is lots of crunching noises. This morning I found another one already dead in the garage. The bug guy came yesterday, and hopefully we are done with the gross critters. I found a lovely picture of our house guest from this weekend. Don't worry, this kind won't kill you, it will just cause extreme pain and much swelling!
