*sigh*

Dear "Windows Admin",

In order for you to block sites using our HTTP proxy filtering technology, the client's web browser must be accessing the Internet via our HTTP proxy software. I figured that since the product page clearly states that it requires $PROXY_PRODUCT and refers to the product as "$CONTENT_FILTER Add-on for $PROXY_PRODUCT" in about 50 pt font in a gigantic graphic that you commented about, you'd get the hint. I was wrong.

After explaining to you what an add-on is, then explaining to you why you needed the proxy server, I then wasted 10 minutes of my life explaining to you how to configure the proxy settings in IE because you aren't "familiar with using web browsers" [ed: I shiat you not, she said "I'm not familiar with using web browsers"].

No, I think you're some office peon and you have no idea what you're talking about. Nice try though, you had me believing for about .00002 seconds that you actually had a clue.

No Love,
~Darkrose

PS: Don't ever call my private extension again. You're lucky I was surfing Fark and break.com instead of working or I would have been a lot less nice.

Now, you're harassing our level 1 techs in the ticket system with your stupidity:

$LUSER
would like to use $FILTER_PRODUCT but I am having problems setting up $FILTER_PRODUCT.

Exactly what is happening? What steps have you taken already to configure the software? Are you getting any errors? If so, what are the errors you are receiving? Did you take a look at the following resources on our web site?

$LISTS_A_BUNCH_OF_HELP-FAQ_STUFF

I suggest you view and understand all the above resources, configure your clients/server/$BASE_PRODUCT per the instructions provided in the manual, then try again. I could not even begin to tell you what is wrong because you are not providing a detailed enough explanation. If the above instructions do not work, I will need the following information to troubleshoot the issue:

1. The settings you have entered in the $ADD_ON tab and the Proxy Options in $PROXY, and in the proxy settings on the client. I would prefer screen shots, which can be attached to the ticket using the Attachments button above.
2. The exact error message you receive as well as the steps you take to receive the error message, if an error message appears.
3. The steps you have taken to configure your clients and $PROXY
4. The $PROXY log file, which is located in the folder you installed $PRODUCT. [gives exact instructions for locating log file]

[gives instructions for attaching files to ticket]

I have setup the content filter to block a site but when I test it on the computers on the network I am allowed to enter into that site. I am not sure if I have setup the proxy correctly.
