Gotta go love Stupid Cable Service Techs

So a customer calls us up (us being the Cable Modem Mfg Support)
He has a Cable Service Technician out at his residence trying to install the Cable Modem. It's ethernet how hard can it be? Both the Technician and User are trying to talk at the same time about some light being solid and no HTTP interface. I ask a few questions and the Cable Technician comes up in his "haughty I am Tech God" voice and goes on to "explain" to me how the Code Red Virus is attacking the DHCP server in the Cable Modem and Port 80 on the Cable Modem causing these problems. I was stunned. A VIRUS is attacking the hardware on it? I don't think so. Turns out he had the OLD manual for the NEW Cable Modem. The light was supposed to be on, not off. And being as this is the new and not old cable modem, he has the wrong IP for the HTTP Config. I can hear the muffled embarrased cough of the technician in the background and then him say "Well, seeing as I got you up and browsing now I think my job is done, I'll just be getting back to the office now".

Was the best laugh I had at work in a long time. Maybe I should have him come over to my apartment. The clock on my Microwave is off, maybe the Code Red Virus has attacked it too.
