During the COVID-19 pandemic, the extent to which a corporation’s strength and efficiency can be influenced by its informal network has been well demonstrated. In addition to this external influence, a change of ownership occurred at Telenor Hungary in the second half of 2018 which has set off a very strong wave of cultural change. Along this change COVID-19 pandemic set foot all over the world, which made this shift even more difficult.
Values in Action is a grassroot social movement started in 2017, in Ireland and led by staff from across the health service sector, from all grades and disciplines, who are working together to spread the behaviors that reflect the organization’s values. These highly-influential and highly-connected people are the driving force behind this organizational change and were identified by Maven7's OrgMapper | INFLUENCE using data-driven Organizational Network Analysis. 400 highly connected colleagues in the network were pinpointed.
A leading company in the energy sector turned to Maven7 – OrgMapper, a company that applies network science in organizational settings. Maven7 advanced ONA (Organisational Network Analysis) maps key influencers throughout an organization and makes communications more effective and efficient in order to bring about better employee alignment in times of change. The first step was the identification of employees who could accelerate organizational cultural change at the company.
Their operation was in the process of being transferred to digital platforms, and their large workforce needed to transform their skills, structures and working methods. They were concerned that involving an external consultancy would raise concerns, therefore they decided to involve key and influential people in their firm to help solve this.
