Sean K. O’Neill was confirmed by the Senate as the United States Ambassador to Thailand on October 7, 2025. He most recently served as the Department of State’s Senior Bureau Official for East Asian and Pacific Affairs as well as the Foreign Policy Advisor to the Commandant of the United States Marine Corps.

Elizabeth J. Konick, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, is Deputy Chief of Mission in Thailand beginning in September 2025. Prior to this assignment, she served as Executive Director and Deputy Executive Secretary in the Office of the Secretary of State for three years.

In her last overseas assignment, Kelia Cummins served as the Director of the Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Manila, overseeing and implementing foreign assistance programs for justice sector partners.
