For those who don't do the Facebook...
Here are a couple of scenes I'm in, from ALTITUDE FALLING. Released last month on DVD, it's set in the year 2029; I play an overworked government agent. For the full story, feel free to check out the whole film.

For any who still read this here LJ.
In the process of getting a divorce. It's been amicable for the most part, but I'd be lying if I said there haven't been any significant bumps in the road. Moving into my own apartment in about a month. Grateful beyond words for the love and support of friends...
I'm still doing voice work, but keeping the boat afloat with a day job at a large State agency. (The one that gives you money if you suddenly get canned.)
I've been assimilated into the collective known as Facebook. (They've added my biological and cultural distinctiveness to their own...) If you're there and haven't connected with me yet, feel free to do just that.
I do miss LJ sometimes; I think I was a far better writer when I spent more time here. Alas. |

Majel Barrett Roddenberry 1932 - 2008
From roddenberry.com:
Majel Barrett Roddenberry passed away this morning, December 18, 2008, at 12:27 AM in her Bel Air home. She died peacefully, in her sleep, and was surrounded by family and loved ones.
"My mother truly acknowledged and appreciated the fact that Star Trek fans played a vital role in keeping the Roddenberry dream alive for the past 42 years. It was her love for the fans, and their love in return, that kept her going for so long after my father passed away." - Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry, Jr.
Given her visibility as Nurse Chapel (on the original Star Trek series) and Lwaxana Troi (Star Trek: The Next Generation) It's likely that most people --- even those in Hollywood and the VO industry --- didn't necessarily consider Majel to be a voice actor. However, for decades, she also provided the voice for one of the most iconic characters in film and TV history: the starship Enterprise itself. For that reason, her contribution not only to the Trek franchise but to the whole of the entertainment world should be held in high esteem.

| Writer's Block: Tina Fey |

30 Rock returns to television today. Should Tina Fey's striking resemblance to Gov. Palin become part of this season's storyline?
"Striking resemblance"?
As entertained as I've been by Fey's take on Caribou Barbie --- "Fancy pageant walkin' " is the funniest three-word phrase I've heard all year --- it's time for a little perspective. Pundits and others have practically professed to seeing double, but Tina Fey's facial features are nothing like the Governor's. Eyes, jawline, nose, lips --- all distinct from those of the target. Fey's impression is 10% about Palin's appearance, and 90% about her mannerisms, voice, and attitude.
Oh, and to answer the question: No. Fey's already buried the impression, demonstrating a clear knowledge of the law of diminishing returns.

PBS has an online poll posted asking if Sarah Palin is qualified. Apparently Republican Palin fans knew about this in advance and are flooding the voting with YES votes.
The poll will be reported on PBS and picked up by mainstream media. It can influence undecided voters in swing states.
Please do two things -- takes 20 seconds.
1) Click on link and vote yourself. Here's the link: http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html
2) Then send this to every single Obama-Biden voter you know, and urge them to vote and pass it on. |

In light of recent events, I'd say my comic strip from this past March shows some foresight.

(Reposted. Feel free to post in your LJ and elsewhere.)
Hi, all you animal lovers.
This is pretty simple... The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals.
It takes about 20 seconds to go to their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals' for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.
P.S. You can even sign up for a daily email reminder. I did, and it makes it much easier when you see it in front of you. |
