'Twas the night before Christmas......

and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse!

The kids enjoy sleeping with each other near the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve.
Image
Lexi always delights in making sure Santa is well fed. She was thrilled with her thank you note from Santa on Christmas morning.

Image

The kids love their new plush bathrobes. They especially enjoyed striking poses for the camera.
Image
Image
The Davis side of the fam celebrated together a few days before Christmas. Among many fabulous traditons, all the grandkids enjoy acting out the nativity.
Parker played the part of the star. He's the one draped in a gold shimmering cloth standing up in the back. The animals heads on the wall helped create the whole "stable" feel. OK, so their actually not my favorite sight to see.
Image

Dyl played a wiseman. Rob said he looks more like a pirate. Either way, he played his part well and was, of course, adorable!
Image
Alexia was delighted to play the part of Mary. She really gets into character and does great.
Image
We had a few different opportunities to see Santa this year. The Mrs. even joined him on one occasion.
Image
Image Parker was too quick and we missed our picture opportunity with Santa.
We had such a fun Christmas season together. I'm always a bit sad to see it end. We hope all of you had an amazing Christmas as well.

Rockin' around the Christmas Tree

With Christmas music playing in the background, we all had a good time decorating the tree. Lexi chose her outfit especially for the occasion. (How do you like her pose?) Parker said, "Hey, this is funner than I thought it would be." Rob described Dylan's contributions well by saying, "Dyl doesn't want the ornaments to feel lonely." Dyl liked to put all of his ornaments together. Sometimes on the same branch and sometimes on the branch right next door.

ImageImage Regardless of Dylan's fabulous technique, we were happy with our Christmas tree. After "rockin' around the Christmas tree", we ended our enjoyable evening by crushing candy canes to stir into our hot chocolate. Mmmm.....tasty!

Wishing you the happiest of holidays!

Happy Birthday Roberto!

Image Rob turned 30-plus-some-years on November 18th.
Image The kids and I scored when we found Rob's favorite chocolate milk for only $1.50! They're usually almost $4. So each of the kids gave him a container of chocolate milk to help him stock up.

Parker is showcasing the awards he got the night of Rob's bday at Pack Meeting.

ImageThe most important award he earned was his Wolf Badge. Go Parker!
Do all scout troops do the upside down thing to pin the badge on? The scouts love it!

The Saturday before Rob's bday, I planned a surprise party for him and our friend Tammy whose birthday is a couple of days before Rob's.

I blind folded Rob. Put him in the car. Drove around the cul-de-sac a couple of times to try to disorient him. (Which also made him nauseous--oops! Sorry babe.) Then around the block. We then picked up 2 other couples and met more friends at Boston's.

Rob was led to believe that after Boston's the party was over. Not so! My friend and I had previously decorated her basement and that is where the party moved to. We played a few different games and laughed hard!

One of the games we played was sculpting ice cream (thanks Sarah H. for the idea!).

Our masterpiece! Any guesses?

What a fun night!

Happy Birthday Babe! XOXO

Once a year, my mom puts together a big bingo game for all of the grandkids. The entire room is filled with many fabulous bingo prizes. It's almost as good as Christmas for these kids. Dylan and Lexi are modeling one of the fine prizes of the evening. The fabulous teeth and attractive glasses came together with a joke book.

A special day

Dylan wakes up quietly in the mornings. I can hear soft thuds as his little feet come down the stairs. One morning his quiet thuds weren't so quiet. On this special day, Dylan torpedoed out of his bedroom, pounded down the stairs, ran past the kitchen where I was and opened the front door. When I caught up to him, he was standing on the front steps, bare feet against the cold pavement, shivering. All because this special day, was garbage day!

Image
Dyl had heard the noisy squeaks of the garbage truck and didn't want to miss out on all the action. Wrapped in blankets, he watched the garbage truck drive up the road, around the cul-de-sac and back down the road.
Oh the simple joys in life!

Lexi, Lexi, Lexi......

Today I saw this picture on Rob's computer screen slideshow and remembered one hilarious wet-haired-Lexi memory.

Image One Sunday in the summer, my family and I were sitting on the front left bench at church. Lexi asked to use the restroom. A bit later, we start to wonder what is taking her so long. Just before I get up to go check on her, Lexi makes her grand entrance in the front of the chapel. She has a smile on her face and her hair was DRIPPING wet!
Rob and I did all we could do to not bust out into laughter. But we let it loose. Our friends behind us also couldn't hold in their chuckles. Beyond that, I couldn't say what other people were laughing and/or trying NOT to laugh. When I finally was able to talk, I asked Lexi what happened. Her response was something like this, "Oh, I just wanted to fix my hair." Um, ok Lex. Next time wait until we get home!
We definitely failed the reverence test that Sunday.

Wicked cool!

Image
I'm going! Yes, I know I'm spoiled rotten. It took many efforts from several family members. I had my home phone in one hand, my cell phone in the other, and I was sitting at the computer trying to get onto the art tix website. What a cruel joke that was! Thanks to my two sistas that tag teamed in line at the Capitol Theatre for hours starting at 5 am. Are the seats great? Na! That's OK! No complaints here. I'm tickled pink that I get to go. April 8th, opening night, I'll be enjoying the show. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Birthday, Happy etc etc to me! Ok so the tickets weren't that expensive. Since my hubby all ready got me a fabulous Christmas gift (sshh, sorry I can't share until Christmas), maybe the tickets will pass for just a Happy New Year or a Happy Valentine's Day?! What do you think babe?:)

More summer flash back!

Tennis Lessons!
Image
Parker enjoyed tennis lessons this summer. While Parker worked hard on the court, Lexi, Dylan, and I met some fun people. I got to know a couple of other moms and Lex and Dyl played well with their kids. Turns out, one of the moms married a guy I went to high school with. Pretty crazy! After the final day of tennis, we got together for fun in the water at one of our new friend's home.

A friend was so kind to share her free baseball tickets with us. The kids were thrilled to be able to go. Thanks Mindy!

Park City Mountain Resort

Image

In August, Rob's sister was visiting from Boston. We joined her and her family at Park City Mountain Resort. There were so many fun things to do here.

Image

Image
One of our favorites was this crazy Alpine Coaster. You climb into a two seater tobaggan-style car. Then you are taken on a very scenic and relaxing automatic uphill climb. Once you are at the top, the relaxing climb ends and you are suddenly going downhill whipping around the mountain side down almost 4,000 feet of bends and curves. Fortunately, with levers on the side of the car, you are able to somewhat control the speed you go while moving downhill.

Image Dyl was so fun to go on the Alpine Coaster ride with. He was full of giggles and hootin' and hallerin' all sorts of fun noises. He was quite the daredevil!

Image

Image Image
ImageRock climbing, rides, miniature golf, and of course the Alpine Slide, were some other activities we enjoyed. Rob and I also went down the zip line a couple of times. SO fun!

We went to the condo my sis-in-law was staying in to have lunch and take a dip in the pool.
ImageI promise I did not ask Dylan to pose for me. He was doing it all by himself, so I had to get a picture!

Image
Parker is enjoying the cascading waterfall that flowed into the hot tub.
ImageFruit kabobs anyone? We enjoyed the pool side service at the condo. Ice cold bottles of water, someone to adjust your umbrella, and of course, these tasty fruit kabobs were my kids favorite.
It was so fun to spend such a fun-filled exhausting day with family! Thanks Meg!
