3. RELATIONSHIPS: Feelng welcomed and belonging are fundamental to learning and development. Many kids come back every year to our community of Elders, guest teachers and teen alumni mentors.
4. LEARNING: Real outdoor survival skills, naturalist knowledge as well as the creative arts, mentored in an engaging way.
5. SAFETY: High physical and emotional safety standard.
6. TEACHERS: Caring and knowledgeable staff and small group sizes.
7. NEEDED and NECESSARY. In a time of ecological disasters (6th mass extinction, climate change, forest fires, pollution), we need the next generations to love the Earth and to know what to care for.
8. WHOLENESS: We tend to all part of the child – physical challenges, mindfulness invitations, singing and rhythms, emotional skills and connection with the more than human world.
