Gracee Time

Now that Scotty is in school & preschool hasn't started yet, 

I wanted to do some fun activities with Gracee.

We got Mr. Seahorse from the library.

We read the fun, cute story, then did seahorse art.

1st Day of First Grade!

How is this boy old enough to be gone all day in 1st grade???!!!

I know I probably sound like a broken record but time just goes by too fast.  He's in school for real now... like gone-all-day-long school!  He's my little buddy & I'm going to miss him.  He doesn't get to eat lunch with me anymore, he has to wake up early, he rides the bus, he's in 1st grade!  It's crazy all the worry that goes into sending your baby off to school!  I don't want him to every get teased... I want him to always be nice to everyone, I want him to get whatever he needs from his teacher, I want him to feel successful in school, I want to shelter him forever!

I had to hold back the tears a few times this morning but he told me he was actually going to try to make me cry... He thinks it's funny.  LoL  He told me, "Mom, you know that now I'm in first grade I'm big."  (I tell them all the time to stop growing up!)  & Then told me to look at him so he could see my watery eyes.  hahah.  He cracks me up!

I asked him how he was feeling and he told me "very excited!"  I'm so glad he's happy & excited for school.... it makes it easier on ME!  Yesterday when we met his teacher (who I think we are going to love btw!), he had to fill out a paper circling emotion pictures telling how he felt about 1st grade.  The options were- happy, sad, excited, scared.  I was kinda relieved to see that.  I wonder sometimes if it's harder on the mommies that it is on the kiddies!!  

I love you Scotty boy!  You're going to have a super great year!

Kindergarten Graduation

I can't believe this boy is all done with Kindergarten!  

Their class did the cutest little presentation by learning 5 facts about an animal.  They dressed up as their animal & we got to walk around and push a button on their shirt to hear all about them.  Scotty boy decided he wanted to be a Howler Monkey.

-I am the loudest monkey.

-The boys are black & the girls are brown.

-I use my tail as an extra arm!

-I eat leaves & fruit.

-I walk slow because I walk along the branches instead of swing.

He got a "Daybreak Dolphin Award" for achieving so many goals. 

He absolutely loved his teacher Mrs. Collins.

What a great year!  

I can't believe 1st grade is just around the corner!

Skylander Birthday Pary

Scotty boy is 6!! We had a Skylander party for him & invited some of his friends... they LOVED it! I made these cute cupcakes with all 8 elements on them.

Fire, Undead, Wind, Water, Life, Magic, Tech, & Earth.

They battled each other in Skylands & were in heaven!

Thursday Thoughts

We went to the Dentist today. All 3 of us (Me, Scotty, & Gracee) had our teeth cleaned. It always feels so good to have that done. Scotty got x-rays of his big teeth coming in behind his baby teeth. They gave him a picture of them.

On the way home he says to Gracee, "Gracee, do you want to see my fossils?"

I couldn't figure out what he was talking about until he pulled out his x-rays! :)

He then asked me why Gracee didn't get any fossils.

We were getting ready for bed the other night, Scotty & Gracee getting on jammies & brushing teeth. Lila was playing in Scottys room.

When I got done brushing teeth I peeked around the corner & this is what I find....

I am pretty sure our Mimi kitty has a short term memory.

She sits by the back door asking to go outside so I open the door and on cold days freezing cold wind comes in and she crouches down, shakes her front paws, & backs up. Then about 4-5 minutes later, meows at the door again... Same story. Yep, still cold Mims.

I wonder how often Lila wakes up & falls back to sleep in the 2 hr time frame that she naps. She is so quiet when she wakes up that I am always checking on her to see if she's awake. I peeked in her room and she was sitting up holding her blanket up to her face. I shut the door and peeked in again a few minutes later and she was back to sleep.

I'd love one of those video monitors just so I could see her sleep patterns.

Thursday Thoughts

I asked the kids what they wanted for dinner tonight and Gracee said,

"COOKIES!"

Lila has 8 teeth & hopefully is done teething for a minute.

We drove through Wyoming coming home from Bear Lake last month. We always stop at the gas station for a quick break, water & usually treats. As we were pulling up, Scott said, "Jenn, do you want a water?"

I said, "Ya, thanks."

Gracee says, "Daddy what did you just ask Mommy?"

He says, "I asked her if she wanted a water."

Gracee says, "OH! I thought you said,

'hey Mommy do you think we should get the kids a happy meal?'"!

WE DIED! She cracks us up!

Scotty loves playing his Xbox games. Our favorite right now is Disneyland Kinect. It's amazing how accurate the lay-out is. Scotty will know his way around DL better than us next time we go. We wanna go back tomorrow. We love DL!
