Frequently Asked Questions

I am an educator for an organization that does not require an O.C.T. or E.C.E. membership. Are our teachers free?

Yes, within a 1:4 ratio with your students, plus an additional two adults. To accommodate private, alternative, and homeschool education groups, THEMUSEUM provides its best free supervisor ratio regardless of student grade range.

Are chaperones and parent volunteers free?

Yes, within an established ratio with your students. All class visits are provided with a free supervisor ratio based on your students’ grade levels that can be found in your official class visit confirmation. Non-faculty chaperones exceeding your free supervisor ratio will be added to your final invoice at $10.00/adult.

Can additional volunteers pay for themselves at the gate?

No. To ensure the safety of visiting students, all parent volunteers must arrive with their school group and their cost included in the final invoice. We encourage additional parent volunteers to pay the $10.00 Additional Supervisor fee directly to the school in order to pay for themselves.

I am arriving with fewer students than expected. Will I be charged for students who are absent?

No. Upon arrival at THEMUSEUM, a member of our team will confirm your attendance numbers on the day of your visit and your invoice will reflect your actual attendance to a minimum of 50% of your expected attendance as noted in your confirmation email.

Can my students participate in THEMUSEUM's public programs and shows during our visit, such as the StarLab and Creation Station?

No. Due to limited capacity, public programming is reserved for General Admission ticketholders. Private StarLab shows are available as an option while planning your field trip to THEMUSEUM at an additional cost.

I have students who forgot to wear closed-toe shoes. Can they still participate in the makerspace activity?

No. This is an active workspace, and most activities utilize tools and equipment that require closed-toe shoes.

Can I book a class visit over the phone?

No. To allow our team the ability to follow up with requests in the order we receive them, we kindly ask all booking inquiries to be submitted through our online booking form. Submitted requests immediately join a queue allowing us to ensure all inquiries are answered in a timely and organized fashion. Once a member of our team follows up with your request, a phone call can be requested to plan the details of your visit to THEMUSEUM.
