The Road Less Worn: How to Be Yourself in a World That Wants You to Be Someone Else Kindle Edition
Staring at the 450 pieces of clothing littering her bedroom, Erin Flynn couldn’t help but wonder, “How did I end up here?”
In her debut memoir The Road Less Worn, Flynn sorts through snapshots of her life—from her roots as an athlete in a small Midwest town to her career as an entrepreneur and author—discovering that much of what she held onto, both in her wardrobe and life, was never truly her own.
As the founder of Cladwell, the leading daily outfit and smart closet app, Flynn knows wardrobes mirror how culture quietly shapes us. But when she created her own capsule wardrobe, she didn’t just declutter her closet—she began decluttering the stories she carried about success, identity, and who she was supposed to be.
The Road Less Worn invites readers to do the same, letting go of what no longer fits to uncover what is truly theirs.- LanguageEnglish

- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseErin's journey of connecting her past to her present was relatable and validating. I could visually place myself in several of her memories as if I was experiencing it right along with her. The themes flowed to help the reader pull personal meaning from each story. A great read for anyone wanting to tie their past to their present!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseYou must read. This book is so relatable. Erin Flynn is a fantastic storyteller. I could definitely sit and have coffee with her. Nice to know someone else is having the same feels and struggles. I know some tweens and teens that would benefit from her stories and advice. I’m not much of a reader but I flew through this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseExcellent summer read! So many quotable lines. One of my favorites: "In a world that constantly pushes us to confirm, the simple act of choosing what to wear can be a subtle unspoken rebellion." Chapters are shorter, making the concepts easy to digest. I appreciated her honestly, and therefore appreciated her wisdom.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI very much enjoyed reading this book. It is written very well. Great book for young women.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2025Format: HardcoverVerified PurchaseA terrific summer read that made me think about my own life!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2025Format: HardcoverErin's candid account of her own experiences as a woman, wife, mom, and business owner provide a refreshing departure from a market glut of step-by-unhelpful step of instructions to live life better. Instead she provides a personal conversation (read this in a coffee shop!) that leans away from prescription and into the mess of figuring it out. You will walk away asking yourself questions about the stories you've carried your whole life that have been secretly haunting you like unwanted shadows.
Perfect for any woman brave enough to admit that she doesn't have it all figured out.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI was disappointed in the content. Book was mostly a memoir about the author complaining and bragging at the same time about. She repeatedly states how easy her life was and how she came from a prominent family and how she achieved success very quickly but was still not happy working for other people. I didn’t feel this book added any useful tips to the reader as the title suggests it would.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2025Format: KindleFinished listening on my walk this morning, and it’s just so good! This book felt like the best kind of conversation with a good friend- honest, enlightening, challenging, funny, and all around feel good. Well written, thought-provoking, and meaningful. Thank you Erin Flynn, for putting yourself and your journey out there for us all to learn from, a great self reflecting read for women of all ages (and I’m sure some men could benefit as well!).
